2020 Fall Teams
Female Athlete of the Week - Abby Peterson, Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Abby Petersen. Abby has consistently been the #1 runner for the Girls’ Cross Country team the entire 2020 season. In the Regional Meet, she competed well finishing 11th and placing where she was seeded. At the Sectional Meet, the competition grew even stiffer and she stepped up her performance TREMENDOUSLY, placing 12th overall. She was 10 places ahead of what she was seeded and this jump in placement allowed our team to tie for 7th place, advancing to the State Meet as a team for the second year in a row. Abby is an incredible athlete and we look forward to seeing what she does at the unofficial state meet this weekend in Chillicothe!! Great job Abby! Congratulations on a great year!
Male Athlete of the Week - Jake Schilling, Aaron Koehler & Owen Atkinson
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Jake Schilling, Aaron Koehler & Owen Atkinson. The three have been among the top 5 runners on our team virtually all year, and it would be nearly impossible to feature just one, as the 3 of them finished within 8 seconds of each other at the Sectional meet despite being in 2 separate flights due to field-size limitations. Jake is a 4-year member of the team and was last year’s most improved runner, while Aaron is a 2nd year varsity performer and Owen is in his 1st year of high school cross country. All contributed greatly to the success and culture of this year’s team. Great job Jake, Aaron & Owen! Congratulations on a great year!
