Thursday the 29th The Varsity team competed in the Regionals at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville Hosted by Plainfield North. Several of the girls had their personal best 18 hole scores for the season Amelia Laorato 98, Zaida Apichai 102, and Annika Nicol 112. We were sad the season ended but made a lot of great memories throughout the season.
Week of September 19th
Monday, although both levels lost, Varsity 186-210 JV 259 -207 it was a great day as we celebrated our seniors. Congratulations to Zaida Apachai, Jori Cattaneo, Katie Corson, and Ashley Leban, Congratulations on this amazing season and the rest of your senior year! We are so proud of all of you and wanted to thank them for being such an inspiration to the younger players.
Wednesday The Hornets competed in the West Suburban conference held at Willowcrest Golf Club in Oak Brook. This was a new course for the conference and the weather was hot. The Hornets competed to the best of their ability and took 8th place. Congratulations to Ashley Leban who had the Hornet's low score of 107. Next week we look forward to the regionals on September 29th at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville.
Week of September 12th The Hornets had another beautiful week of golf and continued to have the best weather. The week started on Monday beating Addison Trail at both levels. Both matches were close, but victorious. Varsity 201-206 Top 4 scores medalist Amelia Lavorato 47 Zaida Apachai 50, Katie Corson and Ashley Leban 52. JV 223 - 221. Top 4 scores medalist Keira Murphy 47, Alex Khulman, 53, Lilly Davy 55 and brand new to the team with only 2 day of practice and her first meet Junior Ella Knappenburger 68. So proud of Ella and happy to have her learn the new sport of Golf.
On Wednesday the Hornet's travel to Glendale Lakes to compete against Glenbard West. Both levels were defeated. Varsity 212-193. Top scores were Katie Corson and Ashley Leban 51 Zaida Apachai 54 and Amelia laorato 56. JV 230-219 top scores from Annika Nicol 53, Keira Murphy 57, Alex Khulman 59, Lilly Davy 61.
Saturday the varsity had a tournament Providence Catholic was the host at Ravisloe Country Club. The golfers always enjoy the free pretzels and taffy apples. The team placed 20th. Congratulations to Ashley Leban who shot her first score under 100 of a 99.
With only a few weeks of the season left the girls continue to work hard on their game!
Week of September 5th
After a busy week last week, the team had one match this week against OPRF at home. The players may have been a bit tired after their first full day of school and ended with a loss in this conference match. Amelia Lavorato wasn’t fazed however, she shot a 45 and was the lowest scorer of both teams and received the honor of match medalist! Ashley had a nice round with a 45 as well.
Week of August 29th
The Hornets had a busy week with four matches. On Monday the team lost a Downers Grove north but worked really hard. Zaida Apichai had the low score for the Hornets with a 53. Katie Corson had a great round and shot a 54 while Amelia Lavarato and Ashley Leban both shot a 57 for the team.
The squad suffered another tough loss on Wednesday to Lyons Township at Flagg Creek. A low score with Zaida again with a 45 and Ashley Leban notched 47. Both Amelia and Katie Ended with a 48. Lilly Davy had a personal best day with the JV and scored a season low, 48!
The team was ready a for a victory and beat Bolingbrook at Boughton Ridge on Thursday by a score of 198 to 221! Amelia and Katie shot 49, Ashley and Annika Nicol shot 50 and Alex Kuhlman had her personal best with a 50 as well!
It was time for the Trojan Scramble at Village Greens on Saturday. This event is always fun and the players get to play as a team against the local rivals. The varsity squad consisted of Ashley, Amelia, Zaida and Katie and they combined for a nice round of 74 on 18 holes!! The JV team consisted of Keira Murphy, Alex, Lilly and Annika and they shot an 86 after 18! Both teams enjoyed the event and had Greta rounds.
Week of August 22nd
The team continued the season with 3 matches this week.
August 22 we went to Downers Grove Park District Course to compete against Downers Grove South. The competition was close. Varsity lost 212 - 200 and JV lost 250 - 268.
August 24th we hosted Willowbrook and were thrilled to have our second win for both teams! Varsity 209 - 228 Ashley Leban was the medalist having the lowest score for all the golfers 46 Amelia Lav0rato 50 Zaida Apachai 56 Katie Corso 57
After 6 days of golf practice the members of the team were already into their competition season.
August 15th we had our first 18 hole varsity tournament hosted by Conant High School. The Hornets took 10th place and were happy to have such a great start. Amelia Lav0rato had the team low score of 108. Annika Nicol who is brand new to the game of golf on her 4th day was added into her first match (18 holes) and was remarkable scoring a 121. We were so proud of her athletic ability and mental toughness to make her first match such a huge success!
August 16th We hosted our first conference match at our home course Village Greens against York High School. Although both the Varsity and JV team lost, we had fun and experienced a beautiful day of golf. Varsity low score was Zaida Apachai 49 Amelia Lav0rato 50 Ashley Leban 50 Katie Corson 53

August 17th We hosted Naperville Central. It was awesome to see both Varsity 209 -220 and JV 285 - 261 getting the win! Varsity - Amelia Lav0rato was the medalist having the lowest score out of all golfers shooting a 48 Zaida Apachai 40 Ashley Leban 53 Annika Nicol 59 Katie Corson 60
We are excited to start another season! We would like to welcome back our seniors Zaida Apichai, Katie Corson, Ashley Leban, and new to golf Jori Cattaneo. Welcome back Juniors Amelia Lav0rato, Keira Murphy, and new to golf Annika Nicol. Freshman Lilly Davy and Alexis Khulman. We are looking forward to having fun developing our skills and appreciating the wonderful world of golf.
