Varsity October 13th Sectional was held by Carl Sandburg High School at Silver Lake Country Club. The day was beautiful for October, but very windy conditions. Dana Euske played an amazing round and shot an 88 putting her in 31st place out of 66 golfers. Dana improved her score from last year by 7 strokes. Unfortunately the season came to end for all of the golfers because there is no state tournament due to covid. Congratulations to Dana for an excellent season and we look forward to the 2021 season!
Week of October 5th
Varsity October 7th The Hornet’s hosted the IHSA Regional at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien. It was a beautiful day for golf. This year because of the covid pandemic only the top 2 teams and top 4 individual’s will move on to sectionals. The hornets gave a great team effort and finished 6th. Dana Euske qualified for sectionals with a score of (90) finishing as one of the top four individuals. Myah Fakhouri (103), Charlotte O’Neil (104) and Mary Lavarato (108) had a personal best for her last match as a senior. Congratulations to Dana Euske who will play Sectionals on October 13th.
Week of September 28th
Varsity October 3rd The West Suburban Conference Tournament was a little different this year because of the covid pandemic. The WSC meet was varsity only on a chilly Saturday at Bloomindale Golf Club. The teams went off in groupings with Hinsdale South paired up with OPRF, Willowbrook, and Addison Trail in a wave format. The Hornets were led by Dana Euske (87), Charlotte O’Neil (95), Myah Fakhouri (96), and Jenny Pantoni (112). The Hornets finished 9th for the day, but 7th overall for the season. The Hornets were extremely excited that Dana Euske finished 14th overall making all conference! Congratulations to Dana.
Week of September 21st
Varsity September 23rd The Varsity Girls’ Golf team finished up the season with conference play against Downers Grove South away at Downers Grove Park District Course. The varsity team lost 208 – 179. Top scores for the Hornet’s came from Dana Euske (46) and Charlotte O’Neil (48).
JV The JV team gave a great effort finishing up in the dark but, also lost 237-220. Even though the JV team did not come out on top, it was an additionally sad day because the season came to end today.
Week of September 14th
Varsity This week, the Hornets faced Hinsdale Central on Wednesday at home and unfortunately suffered a loss to a very good team. Scores were taken from Dana Euske (50,) Charlotte O'Neill (51,) Myah Fakhouri and Fiona Choi (58.) On Friday, the team played nine holes at Salt Creek in a Conference Triangular with Addison Trail and Glenbard West. The format was a scramble, and the Hornets were able to take the victory with a score of 148. Scores and partners were Dana Euske and Charlotte O'Neill with a 38 each, and Myah Fakhouri and Jenny Pantoni each took a 40!
JV This week, the Hornets faced Hinsdale Central on Wednesday at home and unfortunately suffered a loss to a very good team. Scores were taken from Keely Sullivan (48,) Elli Dooley (53,) Ashley Leban (55,) and Savannah Morford (57.) On Friday, the team played nine holes at Salt Creek in a Conference Triangular with Addison Trail and Glenbard West. The format was a scramble, and the Hornets were able to take the victory with a score 127! Scores taken were a 41, 42, and 44.
Week of September 7th
Varsity The varsity had a short week with an off day on Monday and a cancelled triangular due to the weather on Saturday. The only match of the week was a victory over Addison Trail at Salt Creek on Wednesday! The hornets were led by Dana Euske and Myah Fakhouri who each shot low scores of 44. Scores were also taken from Charlotte O'Neill (50) and Jenny Pantoni (59.) The team won by a score of 197-255. JV The JV had a short week with an off day on Monday and a cancelled triangular due to the weather on Saturday. The only match of the week was a victory over Addison Trail at Salt Creek on Wednesday! The hornets were led by Keely Sullivan and Mary Lavorato who each shot low scores of 51. Scores were also taken from Ashley Leban (54) and Savannah Morford (60.) The team won by a score of 216-260.
Week of August 31st
Varsity The Varsity team split their matches this week with a win over OPRF on Monday at Home and a tough loss to LT at Flagg Creek on Wednesday. On Monday, Charlotte O'Neill was the medalist of the match with a nice round of 43 which helped the team win by 13 strokes. Other scorers included Euske and Fakhouri (48,) and Mary Lavorato (61.) Wednesday's match left the Hornets feeling very close to a solid opponent in LT, the team was beat by only 15 strokes. Myah Fakhouri was on fire, with the team's lowest score of 42, while other scorers were, O'Neill (43,) Euske (44,) and Amelia Lavorato (49.) All in all, the team is feeling the improvement and getting better each day!
JV The JV team picked up their first win this week and dropped their overall scores in a tough loss on Wednesday. On Monday, the team beat OPRF at home by a score of 224-233. Scores were taken from Fiona Choi (52,) Katie Corson (56,) while Amelia Lavorato and Keely Sullivan each had a 58 for some season-low scores! In the loss at Flagg Creek, sophomore, Ashley Leban had her best round with a 54, Mary Lavorato and Keely Sullivan (55) and Jenny Pantoni (56.) It was a short week with good results from the JV squad.
Week of August 24th
Varsity The Varsity had a busy week and some nice scores after two conference meets and quad tourney. On Monday, the Hornets defeated Willowbrook at home and senior, Charlotte O'Neill led the way, with the low score of 47! The hornets took scores from juniors, Dana Euske and Myah Fakhouri (48,) as well as senior, Fiona Choi who shot her low score on the season of 55. This was enough to win by 5 strokes, 198-203 over the Warriors! At home again on Wednesday, the Hornets could not find the answer for the DGN Trojans who won the match by 36 strokes. Scores were taken by Euske (49,) O'Neill (53,) Pantoni (58,) and Fakhouri (60.) On Saturday, the team played a full 18 holes in a conference quad at Carraige Greens and fell short to both LT and Hinsdale Central but beat out Addison Trail. Scorers there were Euske (94,) Fakhouri (97,) Pantoni (114,) and Mary Lavorato (116.)
JV The JV team kept steady in two very hot conference matches at home this week and posted a 235 at each outing. Although the Hornets were only 5 strokes short of Willowbrook, the improvement of each player was fun to watch. On Monday, scores were counted for Amelia Lavorato (56,) Keely Sullivan (57,) while, Katie Corson and Savannah Morford each recorded a 61. On Wednesday, the team was bested by DGN but took scores from junior, Elli Dooley (56,) Corson (59,) Wrobel (60,) and Mary Lavorato (60.)
Week of August 17th
Varsity The first week back to golf was a good one for the Hornets, although the first match of the season was a loss to Glenbard West at the tough, Glendale Lakes course, the team bounced back on Saturday in a Triangular. Dana Euske was the medalist with a score of 45 at GBW, while Charlotte O'Neill (50), Myah Fakhouri (51), and Jenny Pantoni (61) all scored for the team. On Saturday, the team played a scramble at Twin Lakes and recorded some nice rounds including a 54 for Dana and Char as well as a 66 for Myah and Jenny. These scores were enough to win the meet over Willowbrook and Addison Trail.
JV The JV squad was excited to get the first week of golf underway and many newcomers to the team were able to help out in a big way. At Glenbard West, although the team lost, scores were taken by freshman, Amelia Lavorato (61,) sophomores, Keely Sullivan (61,) Savannah Morford (65,) and Katie Corson (66.) Glendale Lakes was a challenging first outing and the team was happy to play two rounds of 9 holes at Twin Lakes on Saturday. The results for the scramble ended with two JV groups shooting a 78 each. Seniors, Fiona Choi and Mary Lavorato teamed up for a 78 as did sophomore partners, Mare Wrobel and Katie Corson.
