September 6, 2015 The Lady Hornets competed in their own Hornet/Red Devil Invitational on Sept. 6th. The girls competed well for themselves in one of the state’s strongest fields so early in the season. For many of the girls on our team this was their first race at our home course at Katherine Legge Memorial (KLM) Park.
For the top seven girls in the varsity race we had a combined total team improvement of 7:24 from last year’s times on this same course. That was a huge improvement. We also had a 1-5 runner team split of only 43 seconds. That is a great accomplishment for these varsity girls. Our pack running at the Hornet/Red Devil was outstanding.
The parent volunteers at the Hornet/Red Devil were OUTSTANDING! As a coaching staff we had so many compliments from other coaches about how efficient and well the meet was run. There were over 1900 runners at the invitational and our Hornet Hospitality was so evident and that says a lot about our parent helpers and supporters. Thank you so much!!!!!!
