Varsity The final week gave the girls their final four games of the season. Game one brought Leyden to the Lady Hornets as well as their second win of the season. In the 39-33 win over Leyden, the offense was headed by Molly Savage and Jenny Pantoni.
The second game had the Lady Hornets visit Proviso East in a rematch from the earlier week tournament. Proviso pulled away with a win on their Senior night but not without a fight from Maddy Gamboa and Natalia Vasilevski.
The final two games were part of another two-game tournament held at Downers Grove South. The third game of the week (first of the tournament) was against Morton East where the girls won 39-34. Senior Mary Lavorato had her highest scoring game of her high school career with 23 points.
The final game of the season put the girls against Leyden in a tough 24-29 loss. In a shortened season the girls put up an amazing show and with this being a young team there should be great things to come in the seasons moving forward. Look out for these Lady Hornets!!!!!
Sophomore 3/9/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Leyden High School 43-22. Ella Hardman and Annika Nicol each had 6 points.
3/12/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Proviso East 47-19. Paige Allen had 10 points.
Week of March 1st
Varsity Week four gave the Lady Hornets their most games played of the season to date. The first game of the long set brought conference rival Downers Grove South to the home of the Hornets. In the 49-24 loss senior Ellie Urbanksi gave a solid offensive effort.
The next set of games were a mini tournament on the following Saturday. The first of a two-game tournament held at Glenbard West had the girls facing Downers Grove North. The girls gave the Trojans a good defensive battle in the first half but lost in the second half resulting in a 43-11 loss.
The second game of the day had the girls face off against Proviso East in nail biting finish. While the result was a loss the girsl fought all the way to the final seconds in their 36-32 loss. Sophomore Makena Camden was on fire hitting the first 3-Pointer of her high school career.
Sophomore 3/2/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Willowbrook High School 33-14. Sam Plzak had 5 points.
3/5/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Downers Grove South 26-24. Sam Plzak had 14 points.
Week of February 22nd
Varsity Week three started off with the Lady Hornets traveling to two different schools. The first was to Addison Trails where the game was close until the final moments when Addison Trail was able to pull away with a 41-30 win. The offense was sparked by sisters Amelia Lavorato and Mary Lavorato who had a combined 22 of the Lady Hornets 30 points.
The second away game brought the girls to undefeated Willowbrook in tough 57-11 loss. Freshman Amerie Flowers put up a great effort both offensively and defensively. While both games resulted in a loss the team fought hard both games and never gave up trying.
Sophomore 2/23/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Downers Grove North 22-10. Ella Hardman had 4 points.
2/26/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Addison Trail High School 32-19. Ella Hardman had 6 points and Annica Nicol had 6 points.
Week of February 15th
Varsity In the second week, the Lady Hornets played two games. The first game had the girls travel to Morton where they obtained their first win of the season. Molly Savage put up a great offensive show with 10 points supported by a solid defensive effort from the rest of the team.
The second game brought visiting Glenbard West in a tough 39-23 loss. Mary Lavorato hit a game ending 3 pointer that made its way to the top view on Huddle to cap off another great defensive effort in which the Lady Hornets held Glenbard to their lowest scoring game yet.
Sophomore 2/19/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Morton High School 35-32. Angelina Avilla had 10 points.
2/20/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Glenbard West 47-11. Joy Nwonye had 6 points.
Week of February 8th
Varsity The first week brought two wonderful games for Hinsdale South. In the first game of the post-pandemic season, the Lady Hornets visited rival school Hinsdale Central in a tough but well played 40-20 loss. The offense was headed by senior Ellie Urbanski and freshman Amelia Lavorato.
The second game brought a tough York team to the home of the Lady Hornets. Even though the Hornets lost, they were able to hold York to only 44 points. While the offense struggled to get going it was a good defensive showing for the first week.
Sophomore 2/16/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to York High School 60-10. Ella Hardman had 4 points.
2/12/21 The Sophomore Lady Hornets lost to Hinsdale Central 41-12. Ella Hardman had 6 points.
