Varsity The Lady Hornets won their first post season game against Proviso West 58-39. Kennedi Perkins had 23 points and Erin Adams had 11 points in the win. The Hornets great season came to an end against a very good Benet team. The girls played hard and kept it within reach in the first half, but ended up losing 53-32. Kennedi Perkins closed out her freshman season with 21 points. Congratulations to the 2018/2019 Lady Hornet Basketball team on a wonderful season.
Week of February 4th
Varsity The Lady Hornets trailed the whole game against Lyons Township but came out on top 36-33. It was a hard fought win! Kennedi Perkins led all scorers with 24 points. Emily Koziol added 6 points in the win. Post season games start next week!
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in one game this week, losing to Lyons Township. Gabby Baranauskas led the team's scoring efforts with 10 points and 4 rebounds, Olivia Perez had 7 points and Elena Mazurek followed with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Ending 5-16, the Hornets improved vastly over the season and continued to work hard regardless of the record and losing close games down the stretch. I will miss coaching this group and look forward to seeing more progress from them in the coming years
Freshman In the final game for the season the young Lady Hornets faced Lyons Township. The girls fought hard but were unable to hang on in the end to take the win. The girls fought so hard and played with such respect that the families of LT came to our bench after to shake the Lady Hornets hands.
A big shout out to Molly Savage, Madeline Gamboa, Brooklyn King, Natalia Vasilevski, Sarah Tauber, Tori Collins, Isabelle Camacho, Aileen Balcazar, Jazmin Martinez, and Jillian Marquardt as they fought hard through injuries and gave everything they had in an incredible first season. The Lady Hornets have a bright future ahead with the help of these girls.
Week of January 28th
Varsity The varsity Lady Hornets closed out their conference season with a convincing wins over Leyden and Downers Grove South. Kennedi Perkins led the way against Leyden with 19 points, Emily Koziol hit 3 three pointers and ended up with 12 points while Erin Adams contributed 11 points. We honored our 3 seniors, Emily Koziol, Sylvannah Batchelor, and Ari Wimberly with a win over Downers Grove South 54-33. Batch contributed 7 points in her final home game and Emily chipped in 5 while Ari scored 4. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 22 points.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Leyden on Tuesday and defeating Downers Grove South on Saturday. In the game against Leyden, Gabby Baranauskas led the team's scoring efforts with 19 points and 4 rebounds, Madison Arflack had 7 points and Elena Mazurek followed with 6 points and 6 rebounds.
In the game against DGS, Madison Arflack led with her season and career high 10 points followed by Gabby Baranauskas and Olivia Perez with 9 points each. Now 5-15, the Hornets look to end the season on a high note with an away game at Lyons Township in the WSC Crossover game!
Freshman The week brought the season to an end for the young Lady Hornets. In the first of three games they visited Leyden where they came out with their final road win. It was a great game defensively for the girls with Tori Collins taking the second charge call for the season. In the second game of the week Downers Grove South paid a visit to Hinsdale in a tough loss. This loss ended a 6-game winning streak as well as the regular season for the Lady Hornets.
Week of January 21st
Varsity The Lady Hornets traveled to Dekalb to play in the MLK shootout. The Hornets won their first game against Huntley 41-34. Kennedi Perkins scored 20 points while Emily Koziol chipped in 7 points.
In the second game of the shootout the Hornets lost a close one to Johnsburg- 43-40. Kennedi Perkins netted 21 points in the loss while Emily Koziol had 3 three pointers to chip in 11 points.
The Hornets played Richards High School in a non-conference match up and won an exciting game 49-42. Emily Koziol had 6 3 pointers and ended the game with 20 points. Kennedi Perkins added 17 points in the victory. CeCe McCray played tremendous defense throughout the whole game.
The Hornets played a conference game against Morton on Friday evening. They came away with a 49-32 victory! Kennedi Perkins led the way with 23 points while Erin Adams added 13 points in the win. The Hornets will continue conference play next week against Leyden and celebrate Senior night on Saturday against Downers Grove South.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, defeating Richards on Wednesday and losing to Morton in a nail biter on Saturday. In the game against Richards, Elena Mazurek led the team's scoring efforts with 8 points and 5 rebounds, Olivia Perez had 7 points and 4 steals and Gabby Barnauskas followed with 4 points and the game winning layup at the buzzer to win it.
In the game against Morton, Olivia Perez led with 9 points and 5 steals followed by Gabby Baranauskas with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Now 4-14, the Hornets look to bounce back with an away game at Leyden and a home game against Downers Grove South for Senior Night!
Freshman The week brought two nail biter wins for the young Lady Hornets. The first win came on the road in another outside conference game against Richards. There were several lead changes through out the game and it looked as though Richards may take a home win but Brooklyn King hit a game tying floater to send the game to overtime—where she hit an NBA range 3-pointer to start the rally. This was the dagger to start the run and eventually take the game.
In the second game of the week the girls were in a home rematch against Morton. They commanded the lead and never looked back from the moment of the first tip. A great defensive effort was in place for this win led by Molly Savage, Tori Collins, and Maddie Gamboa. The young Lady Hornets are proving to be a force to contend with as they take their fifth win a row. It will be exciting to see how the season ends with two tough conference games coming up. Wish these girls luck Hornet fans.
Week of January 14th
Varsity The Varsity Lady Hornets lost to a very good Montini team 53-21. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 9 points.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in one game this week, losing to Montini on Tuesday. Olivia Perez led the way with 11 points and 8 steals, followed by Gabby Baranauskas who had 7 points and 6 rebounds. Now 3-13, the Hornets look to bounce back with an away game at Richards on Wednesday and home game against Morton on Saturday!
Freshman In the only game played this week the Lady Hornets travelled to a heavily favored Montini. However, the young Lady Hornets proved too much and took another road win. Brooklyn King and Natalia Vasilevski were the offensive forces while Sarah Tauber and Tori Collins were the defensive counterparts for the team. This was another great road win with the team finally coming together in a great win outside the conference.
Week of January 7th
Varsity The Lady Hornets had a hard fought, great win against Willowbrook on Tuesday night with a final score of 47-44. Kennedi Parker hit clutch free throws down the stretch and ended the game with 20 points. CeCe McCray played awesome defense the entire game and ended up with 9 points. Sylvannah Batchelor took a couple charges in the game as well. The Lady Hornets stayed in the winning column with a 56-35 conference win over Addison Trail on Saturday. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 20 points while Erin Adams chipped in 16 points. It was a great team win!

In the game against Willowbrook, Gabby Baranauskis led the team's scoring efforts with 9 points, Olivia Perez had 8 points and 6 steals and Elena Mazurek followed with 8 points. In the game against Addison Trail, Gabby Baranauskas led with 6 points followed by Olivia Perez with 4 points and 5 steals. Now 3-12, the Hornets look to bounce back with an away game at Montini!
Freshman This was an amazing week for the lady Hornets as they took their first on the road win against a favored Willowbrook team. The girls took a commanding 19-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they won 35-27. Madeline Gamboa was the spark both offensively and defensively that kept the Lady Hornets in the lead for the game; who also took the first charge for the Freshman this season! The second game brought a rematch and a win home against Addison Trails. The Lady Hornets came back from a 9-0 deficit to win 37-29. Brooklyn King and Natalia Vasilefsky paved the way offensively by attacking the basket at every possession. It was an exciting week for the young Lady Hornets with many more to come.
Week of December 31st
Varsity The Varsity Lady Hornets got a conference win with a 48-27 victory over Leyden. Erin Adams led the way with 21 points while Kennedi Perkins chipped in 16 points. The Lady Hornets suffered a tough loss to Proviso East. Kennedi Perkins had 11 points and Erin Adams had 6 points in the loss. The Hornets visit Willowbrook on Tuesday, January 8th.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Leyden on Friday and Proviso East on Saturday. In the game against Leyden, Jenni Pantoni led the team's scoring efforts with 10 points and Gabby Baranauskas and Elena Mazurek followed with 7 points each. In the game against PE, Elena Mazurek led with 9 points followed by Gabby Baranauskas 4 points and 7 rebounds. Now 2-11, the Hornets look to bounce back with an away game at Willowbrook and a home game against Addison Trail!
Freshman The new-year started off with a fantastic win against Leyden. The young Lady Hornets played their best game of the season with a commanding win. The game was headed by Molly Savage, Brooklyn King, and Tori Collins, as the three proved to be too much of a 1-2-3-combo to stop both offensively and defensively. The second game brought the girls to Proviso East in a well-fought loss. Even though the girls did not win they fought the entire time without ever giving up. Sarah Trauber provided a much-needed presence down low with 8 rebounds and 2 assists. It was an exciting first week in the new year and will be even more exciting to see what happens in the weeks to come.
Week of December 24th
Varsity The Lady Hornets started out the holiday tournament at Lincoln Way East with a big win over Providence Catholic. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 16 while Erin Adams chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds and Emily Koziol adding 13 points respectively. The Hornets lost to a very good Lincoln Way East team. Kennedi Perkins had 17 points and Emily Koziol and Mary Lavorato each had 6 points. The Hornets ended up losing their next 2 games to Andrew High School and Lincoln Way Central. Erin Adams led the way with 6 points in the Andrew game and 16 points in the LWC game while Emily Koziol chipped in 7 points. The Hornets host Leyden on January 4th.
Week of December 10th
Varsity The Varsity Lady Hornets lost 2 fought hard games against Willowbrook and Downers Grove South. Kennedi Perkins led the way in the Willowbrook game with 28 points- hitting 4 three pointers. In the DGS game Perkins led the way with 18 points while CeCe McCray added in 9 points and Erin Adams 6. The Hornets are off now until the Lincoln Way East Holiday tournament after Christmas.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Willowbrook on Tuesday and defeated Downers Grove South on Friday. In the game against Willowbrook, Olivia Perez led the team's scoring efforts with 12 points and Gabby Baranauskas followed with 7 points. In the game against DGS, Olivia Perez led with 15 points and 6 steals Gabby Baranauskas 10 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Elena Mazurek with 9 points. Now 2-9, the Hornets look to enjoy the Holiday Break and come back to play a home game against Leyden on Friday (January 4)!
Freshman The fifth week for the freshman team was the best one yet. They first played Willowbrook, a team that was favored to win, but the young lady Hornets fought and took the victory. Molly Savage was the all around game leader with four blocks, two steals, and seven points in a great win for the freshman. The second game was a nail biter against Downers Grove South. The girls fought their way out of a nine-point deficit to force the game into overtime. The offensive come back was led by Brooklyn King and Tori Collins. Even though the girls lost the game, they came out on top with their progression and will only do great things in the future. Keep an eye on these young Hornets!
Week of December 3rd
Varsity The Varsity Lady Hornets went 1-2 this week with a conference win over Morton and losses to Proviso East and Minooka. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 21 points in the win over Morton. Perkins also led the way in the losses. She had 26 points against Minooka and 9 against Proviso East. Juniors Janae Washington and Ari Wimberly chipped in 7 a piece in the loss to Proviso East.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in three games this week, losing to Proviso East on Tuesday, losing on Friday to Morton and losing to Minooka on Saturday. In the game against Proviso, Olivia Perez led the team's scoring efforts with 17 points and Megan McGinley followed with 7 points. In the game against Morton, Jenni Pantoni and Megan McGinley both had 9 points followed by Elena Mazurek with 8 points and 4 rebounds. In the game against Minooka, Olivia Perez led with 9 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Megan McGinley with 6 points. Now 1-8, the Hornets look to bounce back and go into the Holiday break strong with a home game against Willowbrook on Tuesday (December 11), an away game against Downers Grove South on Friday (December 14)!
Freshman The fourth week for the freshman provided three tough losses against three tough teams. The first game pitted the girls against Proviso East. The Lady Hornets gave their all as they faced a taller freshman squad. Brooklyn King led the way offensively with 10 of the 14 points for the young Lady Hornets.
The second game came against Morton West. This was the second away game for the girls and they put up a good fight. However, Morton had too many numbers and eventually ran away with the game.
In the final game for the week, Minooka paid Hinsdale a visit with a vastly deep squad. The Lady Hornets put up their biggest fight of the season defensively. Natalia Vasilefksi gave an amazing defensive effort with seven blocked shots, four of which came on consecutive possessions. Even though the girls suffered three hard losses, their progression is on par to move towards finishing the season strong.
Week of November 26th
Varsity The Varsity Lady Hornets lost to Lake Park 56-69. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 20 points while Emily Koziol chipped in 13 points. The Hornets got back into the win column with a conference victory over Addison Trail-47-35. Kennedi Perkins led the way with 26 points. Senior Emily Koziol hit 4 three pointers and net 13 points.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Lake Park on Tuesday and Losing on Saturday to Addison Trail. In the game against Lake Park, Gabby Baranauskis and Olivia Perez led the team's scoring efforts with 10 and 13 points respectively while Jenni Pantoni rebounded well and played great defense. In the game against Addison Trail, Mary Lavorato had 10 points and 4 steals followed by Megan McGinley with 11 points, 3 assists and 4 steals. Now 1-5, the Hornets look to bounce back with a home game against Proviso East on Tuesday (December 4), an away game against Morton on Friday (December 7) and a home game Saturday against Minooka (December 8)!
Freshman The third week was well fought by the young Lady Hornets, but both games ending with a loss. Lake Park came back from a deficit to steal the win from the girls but Maddie Gamboa put up a fight til the end leading the team in scoring for the game. In the girls first away game at Addison Trails the girls battled back and forth with the lead before Addison Trails was able to pull away. The whole team gave their all in a suspenseful game with multiple lead changes. Both games were fun to watch and see how much the girls are growing as a team.
Week of November 19th
Varsity The varsity girls basketball team had a convincing win over rival Hinsdale Central 42-31. Leading the way for the Hornets was freshman guard Kennedi Perkins with 22 points and junior Erin Adams with 6 points. The Hornets lost to St. Ignatius in the championship game of the tournament 38-51. Senior Emily Koziol led the way with 12 points while Perkins added in 11 points. Congrats to the Lady Hornets on a second place finish. Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Hinsdale Central on Tuesday and defeating St Edwards on Saturday. In the game against Central, Gabby Baranauskis and Olivia Perez led the team's scoring efforts while Jenni Pantoni and Tamya Goodlow rebounded well and played great defense. In the game against St Edwards, Olivia Perez led with 14 points and 4 steals followed by Megan McGinley with 11 points and 3 assists. Now 1-3, the Hornets look to bounce back with a home game against Lake Park on Tuesday (November 27) and an away game against Addison Trail on Saturday (December 1)!
Freshman The second week of the season brought the Hinsdale South girls a great comeback win against Hinsdale Central. The Red Devils commanded the lead most of the game but a great defensive effort from the Hornets allowed them to take the game back for the win. The defensive charge was headed by Tori Collins and Natalia Vasilefski who, both had three blocks each in the second half. The young Lady Hornets finished fourth overall in the tournament with a tough loss to St. Edward in the crossover match. It was an amazing way to finish for a first year group.
Week of November 12th
Varsity The Lady Hornets Varsity basketball team started the season with a loss to Nequea Valley on Thursday and a win over Plainfield South on Saturday in the Brenda Whitesell Tournament. Freshman Kennedi Perkins led the way in both games with 20 points and 16 points respectively. Junior Erin Adams chipped in 15 and 13 while senior Emily Koziol had 10 against Plainfield South.
Sophomore The Lady Hornet Sophomore Team battled in two games this week, losing to Neuqua Valley on Thursday and losing to Plainfield South on Saturday. In the game against NV, Jenni Pantoni and Olivia Perez led the team's scoring efforts while Megan McGinley and Abby Didio rebounded well and played great defense. In the game against Plainfield South, Olivia Perez led with 13 points and 3 boards followed by Gabby Baranauskis with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Now 0-2, the Hornets look to bounce back with a home game against Hinsdale Central on Tuesday (November 20) and a Crossover home game on Saturday (November 24)!
Freshman In our first game of the season, the Freshman faced off against Neuqua Valley. While it was a great game, it was a tough loss. Natalia Vasilevski led the fight with 11 points, 9 of those coming off of three-pointers. In the second game against Plainfield South, the girls fought their way back from a 9-point deficit to win by 8. Molly Savage and Madeline Gamboa were vital in the offensive charge, while Sarah Tauber and Brooklyn King took over the defensive end. It was a great and exciting first week for the Freshman Girls.
