Varisty The Hornets rolled to a week 9 victory 42-16 over Morton to wrap up the season. Nathaniel Fundator opened up the scoring with a big run. Other guys that scored included Daxton Mivchaels, Sam Schuyler and Langston Love. The defense was stout most of the night and bent but did not break. What was most impressive was the number of turnovers our defense forced. Sam Schuyler had an acrobatic interception and Matt Jaffrey had some big hits. Jimmy MArtin and the kickoff team did a great job pinning Morton deep creating tremendous field position.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets won their season finale over Morton by a score of 30-12. The Hornets got it going on offense, putting up 22 points in the first half. Jackson Schuyler threw two touchdowns to Lamarius Moore and ran for two more of his own. The offensive line was able to move Morton defenders all game long which was a huge part of the offensive success. The defense did an outstanding job holding Morton to 6 points through the first 3 quarters, forcing a ton of negative plays for the Morton offense. The sophomore Hornets wrap their season up with a 6-3 overall record, going 4-2 in conference. All of the members of the Hornet sophomore team should be extremely proud of their efforts and accomplishments this season, and are excited to begin their offseason and journey as varsity football players!
Freshman The freshmen hornets finished the job on Saturday against the Morton Mustangs 12-0. The story of this one was two TD passes from Ben Miller to Caleb Perez. And the hornet defense bent but didn’t break to preserve the shutout. The freshmen hornets won the conference at 6-3 overall and 5-1 in conference.
Week 8
Varsity Hinsdale South lost to Downers Grove North 0-32 on Friday the 13th. Turnovers played a huge role as well as field position. We had a hard time getting momentum against a quality wsc silver opponent. We are getting some guys back from injury heading into senior night vs Morton and hope to finish the regular season on a high note.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets fell to Downers North, 48-16 on Monday. Both sides of the ball struggled against a tough Trojan football team. Lamarius Moore and Isaiah Burton scored touchdowns for the Hornets in the loss. The Hornets are now 5-3 and 3-2 in conference, and will play their last game of the season on Friday against Morton at home!
Freshman The freshmen hornets lost to DGN on Friday night 42-13. It was a tough day for the hornet offense in the first half and the Trojans ran two kicks back against a special teams unit that hadn’t allowed a score all year. On the bright side, Del Medico scored twice- which makes 5 TDs in two games. The hornets are now 5-3 overall and 5-1 in conference. The hornets end the season Saturday vs Morton.
Week 7
Varsity The Hornets scored early and often Friday night in a 52-0 victory of=ver Proviso east Friday in Maywood. Every single guy played in the game making it a full team effort. Aiden LaPat opened the game with a field goal and then touchdowns came on the ground and through the air. Sam Schuyler and Nathaniel Fundator scored receiving touchdowns. Ayden Farrare had a few key catches. Mikey Jefferson was the offensive player of the game running behind a solid line for multiple scores. We had multiple turnover recoveries that led Nathaniel Fundator to be the defensive player of the game. The score was 44-0 at half and their was a running clock for the second half. Apollo Cobb and Alex Day did a great job running the ball the second half. We are in the hunt for a playoff birth and face DGN this week at home.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets defeated Proviso East 30-6 on Friday. Despite some penalties, the Hornets were firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball. Jackson Schuyler scored 3 touchdowns on the ground, and had an interception on the defensive side. Isaiah Burton rushed for 2 touchdowns of his own. The Hornets are now 5-2, and 3-2 in conference. The sophomores next game is next Monday against Downers North!
Freshman The Hinsdale South hornets battled hard after a slow start on Saturday vs the Harlem Huskies, but ultimately came up short 30-28. After a fumble on the hornet side of the field set up a touchdown for the huskies, the hornets responded with a 65 yard touchdown throw from Miller to Mansker. The huskies then scored twice in the second before the hornets responded with an 85 yard strike from Miller to Del Medico. Two out the hornets down one score at half. The game went back and forth from there with Del Medico actually scoring two more times in the contest. The difference in this one was a completed 2pt conversion that was defended well by del medico but was tipped into the air and caught by an unsuspecting Harlem player. The hornets are now 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference.
Week 6
Varsity Nick Okrim stepped up in a big way. He threw for over 180 yards with Daxton Michaels catching 120 of them. We had multiple starters out due to injury and the guys came together despite a 29-17 loss at home vs DGS. Sam Schuyler and Mikey Jefferson put the team first in an attempt to come back from injury which helped galvanize the team. Our defense had bad field position multiple times from special teams returns and turnovers but played hard all night long. We head to Proviso East this week.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets fell to DGS, 37-14 on Monday. After a fast start, the Hornets ultimately lost control of the game in the second half. Isaiah Burton and Chris Eiers each picked up a rushing touchdown. The Hornets move to 4-2 and 2-2 in conference, with a chance to bounce back this week at Proviso East on Friday! Freshman The freshmen Hornets lost a tough one at home vs rivals Downers Grove South on Friday night 12-6. After an early score by Mansker on a slant route to put Hinsdale South up 6-0, the mustangs tied it in the third but the Hornet defense held strong and prevented the conversion keeping the game tied at 6-6. That’s the way it stayed until very late in the game until DGS scored the go ahead touchdown with 12 seconds left. The Hornets are now 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference.
Week 5
Varsity The Hornets traveled to Willowbrook High School Friday and played their hearts out in a 34-37 loss. The onside attempt at the end didn’t bounce our way. Many guys got in due to some injuries and we never gave up. The offense was led by QB Langston Love throwing 2 TD’s and rushing for 1 and Nick OKrim came in and executed the offense in a commanding way throwing for 1 TD and rushing for another. WR, Sam Schuyler, Nathaniel Fundator, Ayden Farrare all had receiving TD’s. Jimmy Martin was perfect kicking PAT’s and Aiden LaPat did a great job punting. On defense Alec Miller was able to get a rush and Andrew Miller did well once again. We host DGS this week
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets suffered their first loss of the season at Willowbrook, 42-0. Missing some key players, the Hornets were unable to overcome injuries and some turnovers despite moving the ball pretty well against the Warrior defense. Travis Allen recovered a fumble late in the game. The Hornets are now 4-1 and 2-1 in conference, with a matchup against DGS on the horizon next Friday.
Freshman The freshmen Hornets moved to 5-0 against the Willowbrook warriors to spoil their homecoming on Saturday morning with a 41-20 win on the road. Caleb Perez was the standout in this one, scoring 4 TDs in the process. Jack Madden also stood out at linebacker and offensive guard- never coming out of the game. The freshmen hornets continue to roll at 5-0 overall and 3-0 in conference.
Week 4
Varsity The Hornets remain undefeated in conference after defeating Addison Trail 24-0 on homecoming. The offense was able to drive the field multiple times gaining over 340 yards of offense. It was a balanced attack with Langston Love passing for 178 yards and the offensive line creating opportunities to get 156 yards rushing. Nathaniel Fundator, Sam Schuyler and Daxton Michaels all had receptions for TD’s. Jimmy Martin had a clutch FG and was perfect kicking extra points. The defense earned donuts by not letting AT score. Nathaniel Fundator had a big interception and Nick Okrim had a quality game once again. The Miller boys played hard as well to secure the second shutout of the season. We head to Willowbrook this week for an intense matchup.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets won a sloppy game over Addison Trail, 14-7 on Monday. The Hornet defense held strong, coming up with a huge fourth down stop in our redzone at the end of the game. Despite quite a few turnovers on the offensive end, the Hornets held tough. Jackson Schuyler threw one touchdown to Lamarius Moore, and ran another himself. The sophomore Hornets move to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference, and will take on Willowbrook Friday night.
Freshman The freshmen hornets took care of business against Addison Trail on Friday night 45-8. It was a dominant performance for Hinsdale South in this homecoming game, where everyone seemed to contribute. Once again; the entire Miller triplets scored in this one, and Brady Miller in particular dominated on defense. The hornet offensive line has overcome some of the injuries suffered early on and running the ball has become a feature of this team with Marko Wallace running the ball. The hornets are now 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference.
Week 3
Varsity The Hornets took a knee on the 1 yard line going into score to end the game vs Leyden. The final score was 28-0 and a victory in WSC Gold conference play. The offense racked up 400 yards of offense. QB Langston Love was 15/18 with 174 yards and 2 TD’s. Sam Schuyler was the leading receiver with a TD. Nathaniel Fundator was also a major part of the receiving core with a TD catch as well. In total, 5 different players caught passes from Love which included Dax Michaels, Alec Miller and Mikey Jefferson. Mikey Jefferson ran hard behind a determined offensive line and totaled 174 yards and 2 TD’s. The defense never crossed the 40 in a shutout. Andrew Miller was making plays all night from the LB position and Nick Okrim and Sam Schuyler both had interceptions to stop drives. We host AT next week for homecoming.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets won their first conference game of the year against Leyden, 36-22 on Saturday. The Hornet defense help Leyden scoreless in the first half, and the offense took advantage, building a 22-0 lead before half. Jackson Schuyler tossed 2 touchdowns to Lamarius Moore and Navin Linson, and ran for another himself. Isaiah Burton was a man on a mission running the ball, scoring 2 touchdowns. The sophomore Hornets are now 3-0 and will take on Addison Trail in 9 days.
Freshman The freshmen hornets won an absolute nail biter on Saturday 14-8. Caleb Perez scored twice for the hornets in this one, with huge contributions by Marco Wallace on the ground and Ben Miller keeping plays alive in the passing game. After falling behind 8-0 early, the hornets tied the game late in the first half. That’s the way the game remained for the rest of the way until Ben Miller found Caleb Perez on a switch route with 12 sec left in the game for a walk off TD. The hornets are 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference.
Week 2
Varsity The Hornets lost Friday at Riverside Brookfield 27-35 to end our non conference play. Our offense racked up over 500 yards of offense but we were not able to capitalize on key plays. The RB QB was able to make some great plays to score but ultimately it came down to getting it done in the red zone for the Hornets. We had opportunities and our young men are excited to start conference play this week on Thursday vs Leyden.
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets improved to 2-0 on Friday, defeating Riverside-Brookfield 34-28. The Hornet offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring 5 touchdowns in the win. Nathan Ngoma rushed for 2 touchdowns, one of which was a 63 yarder on 3rd and 27. Jackson Schuyler rushed for 3 touchdowns of his own, the last a 28 yarder with 1:30 left in the game to break the 28-28 tie. The Hornet defense then held on with a big stop on 4th down to seal the deal. The sophomore Hornets will take on Leyden next Saturday looking to move to 3-0!
Freshman The Hornets won convincingly on Saturday morning against Riverside Brookfield 28-6. This was another great defensive effort led by Brady Miller who held strong on the outside and Olijah Christman with an important interception. Ben Miller orchestrated an excellent offensive effort with scores to Buzek, Perez, Mansker, and Wallace. The hornets also recovered an onside kick and the offensive line dominated all game. Hinsdale south is now 2-0 on the season heading into conference play.
Week 1
Varsity The Hornets came up short week 1 vs a solid Wauconda team 10-14. They have been 19-3 the past 2 seasons and proved why they are a great test week 1. The hornets lost the game 10-14 but had numerous chances to win. We had multiple chances inside the red zone but came up short. Our offense only punted once and the defense held firm but ran out of steam late in the game. We had multiple started cramp up in the second half so many backups were able to see the field. On offense there were many bright spots. QB Langston Love was 10/16 with 123 yards passing and a TD. Nathaniel Fundator was the leading receiver followed closely by Dax Michaels, Sam Schuyler and Alec Miller with a TD catch. Mikey Jefferson was the leading Rusher followed by Fundator, Love, Schuyler and Cobb. We totaled around 350 yards of offense with no turnovers. James Martin connected on a FG to put the hornets up by 10 but Waconda was able to fight back and score 14 in the 3rd quarter. Nathaniel Fundator also had an interception in a defensive battle. Our future looks bright and we head to Riverside Brookfield for our week 2 game
Sophomore The sophomore Hornets kicked off the 2023 season in dominant fashion, defeating Wauconda 32-6. The defense led the way and forced 3 turnovers, with Jackson Schuyler notching an interception, Nolan McCaffrey recovering a fumble, and Isaiah Burton scooping up a fumble and scoring! Burton also scored a long rushing touchdown on the offensive side. LaMarius Moore scored two touchdowns, one a spectacular punt return and another rushing. The Hornets look forward to their next matchup at Riverside-Brookfield next Friday!
Freshman The freshmen hornets opened up with a home victory for the first time since the Covid year on Saturday with a resounding 40-0 victory over Oak Forest. There were many highlights in this one, including an opening drive for Hinsdale South that ate up the entire first quarter. Later in the game, with Oak Forest threatening; the hornet defense held strong for 4 downs on the 1 yard line. Every Miller scored in this one- Brady, Nick, and Ben who orchestrated several scoring drives. Mansker and Perez each contributed scores as did Wallace who proved to be a quite capable runner. Up next for the hornets is Riverside- Brookfield. Hinsdale south is 1-0 on the season and 0-0 in conference.
