Ultimately, Sam Schylur kicked a beautiful onside kick with 11 seconds left to seal the deal. The hornets are 4-1 going into the final game of the season.
Week 4 vs. Wheaton Academy
Varsity Hinsdale South traveled to Wheaton Academy Friday after Proviso East canceled the scheduled game. The hornets were in a tough battle for most of the game. The defense held solid and forced many turnovers allowing for a 10-0 halftime deficit. The game opened up late because the hornets got worn down and many younger players had an opportunity to play because so many starters were down. The end result was a loss but many lessons were learned. Sophomore Griffin Car led the defense with many QB pressures and big plays. We travel to Addison Trail to get back into conference play this Friday.
Freshman vs. Hinsdale Central The hornets came to play on Saturday morning with a convincing 42-0 win over Hinsdale Central. South executed well on all sides of the ball, scoring several TDs both running and passing. Trae Burke had over 100 yards receiving and QB Matt Ballard ran for a score and threw for a couple. Nick Jason also threw for one. The defense was stifling where many hornets made big plays at the right times. The hornets are now 3-1 on the season.
