Saturday, April 18th @ Downers Grove South Invitational Placers in this high-powered invitational were Josh Andrzejewski (4th fresh/soph 100 and 8th fresh/soph 200), Mesfin Diedrich (4th in fresh/soph 1600), Santiago Lopez (5th in fresh/soph 1600), Wojtek gilarski (8th in 3200), 4X100 relay of Tyler Koh, Adriel Vazquez, Marvin Zhang, and Josh Andrzejewski (5th fresh/soph), Coleton Campbell (7th in high jump), Nate Navarro ( 4th long jump), Tray Rogers (3rd fresh/soph long jump), and Tyler Koh (2nd fresh/soph triple jump).
Wednesday, April 15th @ Lyons Township Quad No team scores were kept but there were a lot of great performances in this meet with Lyons Township, Downers Grove North, and Romeoville. Javier Terrell and Santiago Lopez finished 1-2 in the 800 meter run, and the 4X400 meter relay team of Ozan Kose, Elliott Scott, Eli Sadwoski, and Nate Navarro kept the Hornets undefeated during outdoors in this event despite having 4 different runners than the first meet.
Saturday, April 11th @ Glenbard South Invite The Hornets placed 4th varsity and 1st in the fresh/soph division. Champions included Javier Terrell in the 3200, who narrowly defeated teammate Mesfin Diedrich, J'mar Pittman in the shot put, John Molina in the fresh/soph high jump, Nathan Navarro in the long jump, Caius Paz fresh/soph pole vault, Marvin Zhang and Allsti Mei, 1-2 in fresh/soph triple jump, and the 4X400 meter relay team of Mesfin Diedrich, Javi Terrell, Noah Koehler, and Gevon Hart.
Friday, March 20th @ West Suburban Gold Indoor Conference Championships The varsity team placed 5th, with Colton Campbell achieving All-Conference status in the high jump, with a personal best of 6’2” for 2nd place. Other scorers were Wojtek Gilarski (4th 3200) and Gevon Hart (6th 400). The top relay was the 4X400 relay of Gilarski, Hart, Javy Terrell, and Noah Koehler, narrowly missing All-Conference in 3rd place. At the fresh/soph level, the Hornets tied for 2nd. Individual champions at that level were Tyler Koh (co-champ 55), Nathan Navarro (200 and long jump), Santiago Lopez (1600 to add to 2nd place in the 3200), John Molina (high jump), and Marvin Zhang (triple jump). Mesfin Diedrich placed 3d in the 1600, Navarro 4th in the 55, Koh 4th in the 200 and 5th triple jump, Austin Schutz 4th high jump, Kalon Kirkendall 6th in shot put, and Eli Nigro 6th in the 3200.
Monday, March 9th @ DGS Mustang Relays The boys competed in the 4X200, 4X400, and 4X800 relays at this prestigious meet at North Central College. The 4X2 of Brent Tolentino, Mutazz Shahbain, Elliott Scott, and Olijah Christman placed 26th, as did the 4X4, which featured Noah Koehler, Gevon Hart, Javy Terrell, and Santiago Lopez. The 4X8 of Terrell, Lopez, Wojtek Gilarski, and Mesfin Diedrich placed 25th, but in a very impressive time of 8:26, our 2nd fastest indoor 4X800 since 2016.
Friday, March 6th @ Batavia Coach DiDoenico This is one of the most competitive smaller invitationals in the Western Suburbs indoor season. We still had several individuals who scored points in this varsity only meet, including Wojtek GIlarski (4th 1600), sophomore John Molina (4th high jump), sophomore Nate Navarro (7th long jump), and freshman Santiago Lopez (9th 3200). In addition, freshmen Mesfin Diedrich, John Pitsoulakis, and Eli Nigro all broke 5 minutes in the 1600, joining Santiago, as an impressive quartet of freshmen to accomplish this relatively rare feat.
Tuesday, March 3rd - Hinsdale South 5-Team Meet This was another great opportunity for everyone to compete at home against Riverside-Brookfield, Westmont, Glenbard East and Evergreen Park. With winter sports wrapping up, basketball players Nate Navarro, John Molina, and Mesfin Diedrich made impressive debuts, while Javy Terrell and Noah Koehler went 1-2 in the 600 and Josh Lewis won the f/s 400 meters.
Thursday, February 19th @ North Central College Invitational The Hornets held their own in this highly competitive early-season meet. Scorers included Colton Campbell (4th high jump), Tyler Koh (5th triple jump), Antoin Bingham (5th 400), and Gevon Hart (6th 400).
Wednesday, February 18th - Riverside-Brookfield at Hinsdale South Dual This meet was a great opportunity for everyone to compete. The Hornets competed well throughout the meet, with highlights being Colton Campbell winning the high jump at 6 feet and Javier Terrell winning the 1600 in 4:57, a great time on our small track.
Saturday, February 7th @ Willowbrook Warrior Invite The team was 4th on both levels for this early season meet. Highlights on the fresh/soph level included a 1-2 finish in the triple jump for Tyler Koh and Marvin Zhang, a first place long jump for Tray Rogers, and big victories in the 1600 for John Pitsoulakis and 3200 for Eli Nigro. On the varsity level, Gevon Hart won the 400 and Colton Campbell won the high jump.
