Friday, April 29th The boys took home a 2nd place trophy this past friday night at the Mike Yavorski Invite hosted by the home team. Starring for the Hornets was Noah Sadowski who took 1st place in the 100 and 200(PR) and was the anchor in the winning 4x200 relay in addition to the 3rd place 4x100 relay team. In addition to Sadowski, the following Hornets had great showings... -Sean Wilson-disc PR of 128-2 -Zayd Truttling-200 PR of 23.68 -Tommy Madden-Triple Jump 2nd place -Ayden Farrare-Long Jump PR of 19'3 -Erik Larson-110 Hurdles 4th place -DeAndre Thomas 110 and 300 Hurdles PR in both. -Quartus Rassi 1600 5th place -Mason White 3200 5th place -4x200 relay 1st place Ayden Farrare, Luke Sadowski, Zayd Truttling, Noah Sadowski

Saturday, April 16 The Hornets competed in the Bud Mohns Invitational this past Saturday and finished 8th on the varsity and 5th on the F/S. The star of the meet was Amari Alexander on the F/S level who took 1st place in the 100 and 200 meter races. In addition, Tommy Madden had a great day as well on the F/S level taking 1st place in the Triple jump and getting a PR in the 100 and 200. The hurdle races were dominated by Eric Larson taking 2nd in 110 and the 300 Hurdles with a PR in both events. The Hornets will be back at DGS this Friday competing in the Bob Cohoon Invite. Tuesday, April 12th The Hornets were involved in a non scoring tri meet on 4/12 at Downers Grove North against the host team and Lyons Township. Leading the sprint races was Amari Alexander running 2 Pr's in the 100 and also the 200 as a freshman. In addition to Alexander, the Hornets had strong performances in the sprints by Zayd Truttling and Khamani Williams. The hurdle races were covered by underclassmen Eric Larson and DeAndre Thomas doing very well in the 110 and 300 respectively in their first outdoor meet running those events. Field events were managed by Eric Larson and Sean Wilson throwing the disc and Khamani Williams, Ayden Farrare, and Tommy Madden taking care of the jumps in PR fashion. In addition, Cassidy Whitaker won the high jump with a 6 foot clearing. In the distance events, Mason White led the way with a 5th place finish in the 3200 meters, Adam Fournier was 4th in his 1st open 400 meter race, Ethan Frankel led the way in the 800, and Quartus Rassi in the 1600 meters.
Friday, March 18th The boys team travelled to Berwyn this past weekend and competed in the west suburban gold conference meet. Overall our varsity finished in 4th place and our f/s level took 3rd. Overall a strong showing as the Hornets now transition to the outdoor season.
Wednesday, February 16th Our Hornets Boys Track and Field team hosted Leyden, Willowbrook and Taft tonight and the 4x800 relay of Mason White, Jaitin Pallath, Quartus Rassi and Aaron Koehler took victory with a time of 9:32. In the 600, Leyton Mueller, Jaitin Pallath and Ethan Frankel went 1-2-3. The field events had 1st place finishes from Josh Sander in the shot and Adam Fournier in the triple jump. In addition the sprints were led by Khamani Williams. The Hornets look forward to their next away meet this Saturday at Proviso West competing in the Greg Foster Invite.
Tuesday, February 10th Our Boys Track and Field team opened up their season competing against Oswego and Addison Trail on Feb. 10 in Addison. This was a timing only meet and the Hornets had many athletes place in their events. Josh Sander took first in the shot and Matt Hurley placed second in this event with both of them throwing their best ever. The Boys had a winning 4x160 relay team which consisted of Khamani Williams, Alex Day, Jaylin Steele, and Zayd Truttling. In the field events, Khamani Williams took first in the long jump and Adam Fournier did the same in triple jump. Rounding out the performances were the strong efforts from Aaron Koehler, Karam Tajeddin, Erik Larson, DeAndre Thomas, Quartus Rassi, Leyton Mueller and Amari Alexander. Our Boys team competes next Wednesday at home at 4:30.
