Saturday, May 27th The Hornets wrapped up their track and field season in competing at the IHSA state competition in Charleston, Illinois. Closing the season out in great fashion was DJ Anderson placing 5th in the triple jump earning All State Honors. Congratulations!!!
Thursday, May 11th Our boys track and field team wrapped up their conference season with the conference meet at Willowbrook and finished in 2nd place. Earning all-conference honors were the following athletes. 4x400 relay 2nd place - Uchechi Obasi, DJ Anderson, Carmelo Lazzara, Jayden Arquines 1600 - Brett Haffner 1st place 400 - Jayden Arquines 2nd place 300 Hurdles - Carmelo Lazzara 2nd place High Jump - Alek Cirjakovic 2nd place Triple Jump - DJ Anderson 2nd place Discus Donovan Washington - 2nd place

Friday, May 5th The Hornets competed in their last Invitational over the weekend at Hinsdale Central finishing in 8th place. Strong performances came from DJ Anderson in the triple jump, Chris Joseph in the 3200, Carmelo Lazzara in the 300 and 110 hurdles, and Ryan Bergstrom in the long jump. Conference this week is Thursday at Willowbrook.
Tuesday, May 2nd Our boys JV team completed their last home meet tonight against DGS, DGN, Morton, and Addison Trail. The weather was a challenge to deal with but they competed well. Our next meet which is the last home meet of the season is next Monday's freshman invitational at 4:45.
Saturday, April 15th The boys track team had another strong performance competing at DGS Invite today with 7 other schools. Our 4x2 relay consisting of Uche Obassi, DJ Anderson, jaylen Plaxico, and Jacob Marcus took first place and this same group took 2nd place in the 4x100 relay. Jacob Marcus took 3rd in the 100 and 2nd in the 200. DJ Anderson had a strong 46-2 triple jump that took 1st place. Rounding out the strength on the varsity was Carmelo Lazzara who won the 300 hurdles. The Hornets also had strong performances on the lower level from Ben Smith 5-11 (high jump), Quentin Brookins in the triple jump and Jayden Rivera in the 800 and his 4x4 split. The Hornets will go back to DGS for an all varsity meet this Friday. South!!
Saturday, April 8th The Hornets took 6th place this past weekend at the Hinsdale Relays. Relays that scored big points were our triple jumpers, shot putters and the 4x200 relay.
Tuesday, March 21st The Freshman had their final indoor meet today and finished in 2nd place overall in the wsg conference. The Hornets were led by Uche Obassi who was the lead runner in the winning 4x1 relay and also the winner in the 55 and 200 meter dash. Aaron Tims took 1st place in the High Jump and Long Jump. The Hornets took 1st in the shot behind Lucas Putorik. Very strong high place performances also came from Jayden Arquines, Isiah Lashey, Josh Hargrove, and the 4x8 and 4x4 relay teams. Congrats on the way you performed and the sportsmanship you have shown this indoor season. Good luck outdoors!
Friday, March 17th The Hornets finished up their indoor season with an outstanding team effort accumulating 132 team points earning 2nd place in the West Suburban Gold division behind DGS who scored 156 points. Strong individual performances came from our 4x800 relay(Chris Joseph,Jayden Arquines,Charles Thuruthiyil, and Christian Schultz) earning 1st place. The 4x160 relay(Jacob Marcus,Jaylen Plaxico,Carmelo Lazzara,and DJ Anderson) earned 1st place honors. The following individuals earned all conference honors....DJ Anderson 1st place triple jump, Jaylen Plaxico 1st place 200, Carmelo Lazzara 2nd place long jump, Alec Cirjakovic 2nd place high jump, Jacob Marcus 2nd place 200, Brett Haffner 2nd place 3200, and Will Hawley 2nd place shot put. Great work team!
Friday, March 10th The Hornets had their last meet prior to conference last night competing against the mustangs of DGS. Showing very strong performances were the shot putters led by Wills Hawley. The high jump was won by Alec Cirjakovic. In addition, Chris Joseph ran well for the Hornets. Next week will be the conference meet held at Addison Trail.
Friday, March 3rd The Hornets were part of an exciting meet in Batavia tonight against 6 other schools. Leading the way was Brett Haffner winning the 1600. Getting 2nd was the 4x2 team consisting of Jacob Marcus, Jaylen Plaxico, Carmelo Lazzara, and Quentin Brookins. Brookins also took 3rd in the triple jump. Next meet is a week from today at home against DGS.
Wednesday, February 15th The Hornets completed another meet with many strong performances. They battled against Willowbrook, Leyden, and Proviso East. Leading the way was Chris Joseph in the 1600 running a 4:50 and the 4x800 team consisting of Chris Joseph, Tim Rudolph, Charles Thuruthiyil, and Trevor Schauer. Alek Cirjakovic took 1st in the high jump and 2nd in the 600. Wills Hawley had a huge PR in shot along with Quinton Fields. The Hornets 4x1(Jacob Marcus,Jaylen Plaxico,Carmelo Lazzara, and Sam LaPlante) took 1st. Jacob Marcus continued to improve in winning the 55 and 200. Good work Hornets!!!
Thursday, February 9th The Hornets competed tonight at Addison Trail against the Trail Blazers and the Panthers from Oswego. Leading the way in the shot was Quentin Fields on the f/s level and Donovan Washington on the varsity. Both of them took first place honors. Sprinting well for the Hornets were Jacob Marcus who won the 200 as well as Jaylen Plaxico in the 55. The 4x1 relays on both levels won as well. Brett Haffner showed his strength in winning the 800 and Trevor Schauer had a strong 3200 run. Rounding out the distance group was Tony Ma in the f/s 800.
Wednesday, February 1st The Hornets started their season with a preseason meet vs Hinsdale Central. Throwing the shot and getting off to a solid start was Will Hawley on varsity and Alex Diaz on frosh/soph. Running well for the Hornets was Christian Schulte, Josh Baron and Nick Beronio. The sprinting group was led by Jacob Marcus in the 200 meter dash. The Hornets are looking forward to next weeks meet at Addison Trail with the Trail Blazers and the Panthers from Oswego.
