Varsity Billy and Tommy competed in the Brother Rice sectional at Sanctuary golf course. Billy shot 74 and qualified for state. Tommy shot 83 and missed the number by 5 strokes.
Week of September 27th
Varsity The boys traveled to Joliet to compete in the Lemont 2A regional. The team finished in 5th place 10 strokes away from qualifying for sectionals. Billy Gneiser was the lowest individual qualifier with a 73 and Tommy Gneiser qualified for sectionals with a 79.
Week of September 20th
Varsity The Hornets went into the conference tournament in 4th place in the WSC gold. The team had their best 4 man score of 317 at the tournament, leap frogged Willowbrook and finished 3rd in conference. Billy Gneiser was WSC gold medalist and all conference with a 73, Tommy Gneiser was all conference with a 78, Joe Pantoni had a season low 82, also all conference. Alex Marth shot 84 and missed all conference by a scorecard playoff.
JV On Wednesday, the JV hornets traveled to the Bloomingdale Golf Club for the West Suburban Conference tournament. The team shot 395 and placed third in the tournament. Combining the tournament score, and the overall conference record of 5-1, the Hornets tied for 2nd place with Willowbrook for the final conference placing in the West Suburban Gold. The Hornet scoring was as follows: Ryan Salverredy 93, Brendan Savage 93, Tom Remi 101, Sam Johnson 108, Dominick Rallo 110, and Nathan Ockrim 112. Ryan Salverredy and Brendan Savage placed 6th and 7th place for overall individual scores, earning medalist honors.
On Saturday, the JV squad finished their season with a 5-man scramble tournament at Sugar Creek golf course. The Hornets shot a 66 (+2) for a team score, and ended up placing 6th out of ten teams. The following golfers competed: Sam Johnson, Tom Remi, Nathan Ockrim, Dominick Rallo, and Rohan Bansal. All the players had fun, and had some nice shots! It was a great ending to a fun and competitive season of JV boys golf!
Week of September 13th
Varsity The Boys varsity Golf team had an up and down week. On Tuesday, 9/14 the Hornets beat Morton at Carriage Greens 161-225, Medalist was Billy Gneiser with a 36, other scores that counted, Tommy Gneiser 38, Alex Marth 43 and Joe Pantoni 44.
On Thursday, 9/16 the Hornets fell to their rival DGS 173-155. Medalist was Tommy Gneiser with a 38, other scores that counted, Billy Gneiser 39, Joe Pantoni 48 and Alex Marth 48.
On Saturday, the Hornets traveled to Naperville to play in the Naperville Central quad. The team finished 4th out of 4 teams, but Billy Gneiser was the overall medalist with an excellent score of -3, 69. Billy was 6 strokes better than the nearest competitor.
JV On Wednesday, the hornets took on their conference rival Downers Grove South at Village Links golf course. The hornets lost the match by a score of 178-215. Top scores for the hornets were Tom Remi 52 and Sam Johson with a 54.
On Saturday, the hornets traveled to Naperbrook golf course for the Naperville Central Invite. They placed fourth out of four teams, but they competed well. Top scores for the hornets were Brendan Savage with a 92, Tom Remi with a 103, and Ryan Salverredy with a 104.

Varsity
JV On Wednesday, the Hornets took on Downers Grove North in a west suburban cross-conference match. The JV squad lost by a score of 175-211. Top Hornet scorers were Sam Johnson with 50, Tom Remi with a 51, and Dominick Rallo with a 53.
Saturday, the Hornets traveled to the Addison Trail Invite at Salt Creek Golf Course. The team played in an eighteen hole format that included nine holes of scramble and nine holes of best ball. The team placed 4th out of six teams with a combined score of 147. The JV squad had one pair that took 10th place overall for a medal -- Sam Johnson and Brendan Savage, who shot 71 combined.
Week of August 30th
Varsity On Wednesday 9/1, the Hornets lost a close match to AT in a 5th card playoff. Both teams had a score of 177 and the Trail Blazers won on the 5th card. Billy Gneiser was medalist with a 42, other scores that counted were Tommy Gneiser 43, Joe Pantoni 44 and Alex Marth 48.
On Wednesday 9/8, the Hornets lost to DGN, Billy Gneiser was medalist with a good score of 37. Other scores that counted were Tommy Gneiser 44, Alex Marth 48 and Lukas Krapukaitis 53.
Player of the week is Billy Gneiser. Billy placed 5th in the Rolling Meadows invitational with a score of 71. He was the leader in helping the Hornets secure 4th place at the Willowbrook scramble. He has been medalist in 5 of the first 6 matches. He had two rounds of 3 under par 33 at Ruth Lake and Oak Park Country Club. His 9 hole and 18 hole averages are near even par for the entire season.
JV The Hornets improved their West Suburban Gold conference record to 3-0 by defeating Addison Trail at Carriage Greens golf course. They won the match 202-286. Top scores were Sam Johnson with a 47, Dominick Rallo with a 51, and Ryan Salverredy & Brendan Savage both shooting 52.
On Saturday afternoon, the JV hornets travelled to the Rolling Meadows Invitational, which had 16 competitive teams. The hornets produced a team score of 403 which put them towards the bottom of the leaderboard. However, a couple inexperienced golfers got their first chance to play in an 18-hole format. The hornets were led by Sam Johnson with a 91, and Brendan Savage with a 92.
Week of August 23rd
Varsity The Hornets began a very busy week, Monday 8/23, by taking on OPRF at beautiful OPCG. The team was led by Billy Gneiser who shot an overall low of 3 under par, 33! Other scores that counted, Tommy Gneiser 42, Alex Marth 49 and Ryan Flynders 52.
On Tuesday 8/24, the Hornets started Conference play with a victory over the Leyden Eagles, 166-199. The Hornets were once again led by Billy Gneiser who shot an even par 35, other scores that counted were Ryan Flynders 42, Tommy Gneiser 43 and Joe Pantoni 46.
The match on Wednesday 8/25 vs. RB was canceled due to thunderstorms. No make up date has been scheduled yet.
On Thursday 8/26, the Hornets traveled to Villa Park to take on the WB warriors at Sugar Creek golf course. It was a very long and hot week and the Hornets ran out of gas and lost a close match 156-151. Billy Gneiser was medalist with 35, other scores that counted Tommy Gneiser 37, Ryan Flyners 42 and Joe Pantoni 42.
On Saturday 8/28 the Hornets played in the Rolling Meadows invite at Arlington Lakes GC. The team finished 7/13 teams with a score of 329. Team medalist was Billy Gneiser with a 3 over 71. Billy finished in 5th place overall. Tommy Gneiser shot 78 and finished 14th overall, Ryan Flynders shot 88 and finished 47 overall, Alex Marth shot 92, 55th overall, Ryan Lokken shot 96, 61st overall and Joe Pantoni WD. JV On Monday, the Hornets started their busy week with a match against Oak Park River Forest at the beautiful Oak Park Country Club. They lost a tough fought match against OPRF by a score of 194-201. Scores were as follows: Brendan Savage 43, Tom Remi 49, Sam Johnson 54, Dominick Rallo 55, and Nathan Ockrim 62.
On Tuesday, the Hornets began gold conference play with a home match against Leyden at Carriage Greens. The team got off to a hot start with all golfers players playing above average. Due to inclement weather, the match had to be stopped after 6-7 holes, but the Leyden Eagles conceded the win to the Hornets due to the large lead.
On Wednesday, the Hornets match against Riverside-Brookfield was cancelled due to inclement weather after hole 2.
On Thursday, the Hornets travelled to Sugar Creek golf course for conference play against Willowbrook. The Hornets defeated the Warriors 198-202 in a closely contested match that came down to the last hole. Individual scoring was as follows: Sam Johnson 47, Tom Remi 49, Brendan Savage 50, Dominick Rallo 52, Nathan Ockrim, 53, and Ryan Salverredy 54.
On Saturday, the Hornets travelled to Lockport to play in the eighteen team Porter Cup at Woodruff golf course. The Hornets battled hard, but ended up placing 16th in a very competitive tournament with a combined team score of 387. Despite the tough humid conditions and a long day of eighteen holes, the Hornets had a fun time playing in the dynamic tournament that involved three scoring formats (best ball, scramble, and alternate shot).
Week of August 16th
Varsity The first week of golf started with some disappointment, as the Hornets match on 8/16 with DGN was canceled at the last minute. It will be made up at Carriage Greens on 9/8. The boys are all working hard and getting better everyday.
The Hornets had two very difficult matches on Wednesday and Thursday against Hinsdale Central and Lyons Township. On Wednesday vs. HC at Ruth Lake, the Hornets were led by Billy Gneiser with a very good 9 hole score of 33. His brother Tommy also played well with a 42. Other scores that counted were turned in by Alex Marth 49 and promising transfer, junior Ryan Flynders 49.
On Thursday, the Hornets fell to the LT lions at Carriage Greens. Medalist was Tommy Gneiser with a 39. Billy Gneiser had an off day and came in with a 40. Other scores that counted were Ryan Flynders 47 and Alex Marth 47.
On Saturday, the Hornets took on Oswego East in an 18 hole match and were led by Billy Gneiser with a 73. Other scores that counted, Tommy Gneiser 84, Ryan Flynders 92 and Zach Bellettini 102.

JV The Hornets opened up their season against perennial state power Hinsdale Central on Wednesday 8/18 at Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale. The Hornets were defeated by a score of 154-210. The Hornets scoring was as follows: Nathan Ockrim 47, Sam Johnson 51, Dominick Rallo 56, Tom Remi 56, Ryan Salverredy 68, and Matt Cappetta 78.
On Thursday the Hornets had their first duo home match against a tough Lyons Township team. They were defeated by a score of 171-203. The young hornets were led by Brendan Savage 49, Nathan Ockrim 50, Ryan Salverredy 50, Sam Johnson 54, and Dominick Rallo 54. Salverredy made a 18 shot improvement from the previous day! Many hornets participated in their first competitive golf matches including Rohan Bansal, Owen Cranley, Matt Grace, and Oliver Lay.
On Saturday the Hornets traveled to Countryside to play in a triangular meet vs York and Lyons Township at Flagg Creek Golf Course. The team scores were the following: York 151, Lyons Township 162, and Hinsdale South 203. The Hornets scoring was as follows: Sam Johnson 46, Tom Remi, 52, Matt Cappetta 52, Nathan Ockrim 53, Matt Grace 58, Rohan Bansal 61, Owen Cranley 62, and Oliver Lay 75.
