On Saturday Zakhari Williams represented the team at the IHSA Sectional Tournament. He bowled well finishing 31st overall. Total score of 1246 with a 253 game.
Week of January 10th
On Monday the Hornets traveled to Suburbanite Lanes to take on Hinsdale Central. The varsity put up their best score away from home and won 2851-2773. Zakhari Williams led all bowlers with a 632 series (212,205,215). Rudy Flores stayed hot and shot a 576. JV1 and JV2 bowled exhibition. Joey McDavid had the high series (526). Justin Hill (475) and Lucas Trush (474) also bowled well.
On Tuesday South hosted Bolinbrook for senior night. The varsity won 2541-2369. Zakhari Williams (567), Gianluca DiNardi (539), and Joey Pacentine (534) were the leading bowlers. Both JV teams bowled exhibition. Matt Camacho (489), Joey McDavid (429), Tom Lessmeister (429), and Zeshawn Khan (428) paced the team. Joey Pacentine, Justin Hill, Lucas Trush, Zeshawn Khan, Lukas Isberg, Jacob Nowobilski, and Ace Stallings were recognized at the conclusion of the match. We are proud of all seven seniors and appreciate that they came out for the team this year.
On Saturday the Hornets hosted the IHSA Regional Tournament. The team finished 6th out of 11 teams. Zakhari shot a 1219 series to advance to next week’s sectional.
Week of January 3rd
On Monday the Hornets hosted Chicago Christian. The varsity won 2788-2620. Zakhari Williams picked up where he left off leading all bowlers with a 622 series and 247 game. Mikie Alyward had a great 591 series. The JV won 2473-2215. Lucas Trush (541) and Zeshawn Khan (540) led the team to the victory.
On Tuesday the Hornets traveled to Lisle Lanes to face Naperville Central. The varsity lost 2542-2677. Zakhari Williams led the varsity with a 564 series. Rudy Flores contributed a 545. The JV came out on top 2209-2031. Lucas Trush (508) and Joey McDavid (488) led the way.
On Thursday the Hornets hosted Naperville North. The varsity bowled very well and won 2894-2647. Rudy Flores led the team with a 678 series and games of 237,206,235. Zakhari Williams wasn’t far behind with a 658 series. The JV continued their hot streak with a 2104-1959 victory. Joey McDavid shot a nice 502 series.
Week of December 12th
On Monday the Hornets hosted Reavis. The varsity bowled their best series and game of the year, but came up short 2869-2927. Zakhari Williams (666 series, 258 game) and Joey Pacentine (608 series, 232 game) led the team. The JV lost 2266-2455. Matt Camacho (507 series) and Zeshawn Khan (494) series topped the team. On JV2 Jeff Leon had his high series (408) and was 7-7 on one-pin spares.
On Wednesday South traveled to Fenton. The varsity won 2659-2139. Zakhari Williams shot a 621 series to lead the team. Mikie Alyward bowled a career best 264 in the first game.
On Friday the Hornets hosted Glenbard North. The varsity shot their high game (1079) and series of the year in a 2909-2646 win. Zakhari Williams hit the record books with a 290 game and 697 series. Rudy Flores contributed a 565 series. The JV posted a season high 2475 series to Glenbard’s 2410. Zeshawn Khan led the way with a 539 series and 213 series. Justin Hill (513) and Matt Camacho (500) also bowled well. The JV2 won 1979-1818. Jacob Nowobilski led the team with a 417 series.
Week of December 6th
The Hornets hosted Lemont on Monday. The varsity won 2688-2295. Zakhari Williams led all bowlers with a 659 series and games of 223, 203, and 233. Gianluca DiNardi contributed a 559 series. The JV won 2233-1828. Joey Pacentine (523 series), Joey McDavid (454 series), and Justin Hill (443 series) paced the team.
On Thursday the Hornets hosted Plainfield Central. The varsity won 2746-2683. Justin Hill had a career best 589 series to lead the team. Gianluca DiNardi contributed a 580 series. The JV had an outstanding night and won 2465-2059. Dylan Newman (486 series) and Matt Camacho (480 series, 219 game) led the way.
On Saturday the varsity competed in the Sandburg Invite. The team finished 16th out of 20. Zakhari Williams shot a 1150 to lead the team.
Week of November 29th
On Monday the Hornets hosted Shepard for a two-game series. The varsity lost 1756-1795. Zakhari Williams rolled games of 242 and 204. The JV lost 1382-1678. Joey McDavid shot games of 169 and 162.
Oak Lawn came to town on Wednesday. The varsity faced a tough team and lost 2762-3080. Zakhari Williams led all bowlers with a 686 series (248,226,212). Gianluca DiNardi contributed a 560 series with a 212 game. The JV won 2086-1892. Matt Camacho (457 series), Justin Hill (450 series), and Lucas Trush (447 series) led the team.
Week of November 22nd
On Tuesday the Hornets competed in split squad matches. The varsity traveled to Immaculate Conception and won 2747-2607. Zakhari Williams had a great night shooting a 657 series with games of 248, 230, and 179. Gianluca DiNardi contributed a 600 series with games of 194, 203, and 203. Austin Young had a career high 180 game at the exhibition level.
JV1 and JV2 hosted LT. The JV1 team lost 1978-2094. Matt Camacho (470), Zeshawn Khan (427), and Joey Pacentine (420) led the team. The JV2 lost 1645-1836. Tom Leissmeister (411) and EJ Mazzei (380) paced the team.
Week of November 15th On Tuesday the Hornets traveled to Rolling Lanes to take on LT. The varsity lost 2391-2887. Zakhari Williams again led the team with a 589 series and 233 game. The JV lost 1885-2287. Dylan Newman had the top series (380). Lukas Isberg led the JV2 with a 464 series.
On Thursday South hosted Oswego. The varsity bowled better, but came up just short 2811-2859. Zakhari Williams (630 series, 245 game) and Gianluca DiNardi (623 series, 223 game) led the way. The JV keep improving and won 2253-2222. Dylan Newman had the best series of his career (548) to led the way.
The squad split up on Saturday. The varsity traveled to the Plainfield North Invite. The JV took two teams to the Lake Park Invite. The varsity finished in 4th place in the bronze division (20th out of 39 teams overall). Rudy Flores led the team and finished 35th overall. Zakhari Williams 1136 and Gianluca DiNardi 1071 also bowled well. The JV teams finished in 16th and 17th out of 26 teams. Lucas Trush (817 series) and Joey Pacentine (809 series) paced the Hornets.
Week of November 8th The Hornets opened up the season on Tuesday, November 9th. The varsity hosted Immaculate Conception. The team bowled very well, winning 2832-2254. Zakhari Williams (226,223,214), Rudy Flores (198,204,202), Gianluca DiNardi (193,196,194), and Mikey Alyward (188,155,170) led the team. JV1 bowled unopposed. Matt Camacho led the team with a 455 series. The JV2 team traveled to LT and came up short 1863-1880. Zeshawn Khan (155) and Dylan Newman (151) rolled the top games.
On Wednesday the Hornets hosted Glenbard East. The varsity bowled well, but lost 2862-2931. Zakhari Williams led the way with a 647 series and games of 225,222,200. Rudy Flores (565), Jeremy Radicker (557), and Gianluca DiNardi (550) also bowled well. The JV improved, but came up short 2105-2485. Joey Pacentine (489) and EJ Mazzei (429) led the way.
South hosted Hinsdale Central on Thursday. The varsity lost 2646-2679. Zakhari Williams once again led the team with a 676 series and 254 game. The JV lost 2317-2343. Joey McDavid (489 series) and Joey Pacentine (465 series) were the top bowlers.
