Week of November 24th

Varsity
Hinsdale South Varsity improved greatly over the course of their thanksgiving tournament hosted by Riverside Brookfield. Led by Nas Yakub (all tournament) and Louie Dusek (team leading scorer 8ppg over 4 games)

The Hornets began by battling with the Fenwick Friars in a back and forth matchup that saw the hornets win the 1st and 4th quarters, but the remaining quarters proved to be too heavily in the Friars favor. Leading scorers of the contest were Louie Dusek (9), Maurice Oglesby (6), and Kareem Esily (6)

Game 2 against the hosting Riverside Brookfield Bulldogs did not go as planned for Hinsdale South, but there were some strong offensive performances from Noah Therapos (12) and Louie Dusek (8)

Game 3 versus Golder College Prep saw the Hornets right the ship as they proved triumphant over the Panthers 68-33.  Nas Yakub (21) had a dominant performance in the post alongside Louie Dusek (9). Both players contributed 7 overall rebounds to the effort.

Game 4 concluded against a tough Joliet West team in a tough game the Hornets hope to stake their identity on, excluding the overall result of a loss. Hinsdale South had an early lead of 15-10 before the stifling defense of the Tigers took the Hornets out of their flow. Once again Hinsdale South won the 1st and 4th quarters, but the team looks to clean up the erratic 2nd and 3rd quarters of the tournament to find themselves on the proper side of the win column. Colton Lin (7) Louie Dusek (6) and Kareem Esily (6) were the leading scorers of the contest.
