JV 5/5 vs. Addison Trail (Away) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer earned an impressive 4–2 road victory over Addison Trail High School. After falling behind 1–0 early, the Hornets responded with two goals off corner kicks from Iva Ilijoska—the first finished by Shishi Lewin and the second by Juliana Mekhiel to take a 2–1 lead into halftime. Addison Trail equalized early in the second half, but with under eight minutes remaining, Rachel Tolentino broke free on a counterattack to score the go-ahead goal. Irene Garcia added another shortly after to seal the 4–2 win, capping off a strong team performance.

Tuesday 4/28 Home vs. Downers Grove South Win 3-2 The Hornets battled for 80 minutes straight against a strong DGS team. Junior Captain Brynn Diedrich dribbled with speed from the halfline, finding the back of the net on a low ball with ease. DGS responded quickly with a nice goal shortly after with a shot from the 20 yard line. The Hornets responded with grit as defenders made it a point to get into the attack. Senior leader Macey Laskowski ran her way up the field, and found the back of the net with a beautiful shot from about 20 yards out to the upper right corner of the net! The Hornets found the back of the net again with senior Kennedy Ruff with a nice ball to Diedrich who scored from outside the box making it 3-1 going into the half. The Hornets were able to keep their lead, conceding one more goal from DGS in the second half, but ultimately won the game 3-2 after a full 80 minute conference battle. The Hornets will rest up and face two conference opponents next week! JV 4/28 vs. Downers Grove South (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer fell 8–0 against Downers Grove South High School. The Hornets continued to battle throughout the match and showed effort against a strong opponent. Despite the result, the game served as another opportunity to build experience and continue improving as the season progresses.

Tuesday 4/21 Home vs. Willowbrook Conference Match Win 6-0
The Hornets found themselves with another conference victory on a beautiful Tuesday evening at their home turf. The Hornets had multiple opportunities to score in the first half, with junior Loolia Zeitoun finding the rebound off a rip from Captain Brynn Diedrich to make it 1-0 going into halftime. The Hornets came out hungry in the second half and started finding the back of the net. Captain Kennedy Ruff placed a through ball to Brynn who finished in the back of the net making the score 2-0. Another goal scoring opportunity arrived off of a corner kick from Brynn to Kennedy who headed it in. The Hornets were on a roll with another goal from senior Sloane Kiefer off of a rebounded shot from Brynn. Even the defence got in on the action with Samantha Johnson , our left back, assisting a goal for Brynn with a long through ball. Again, Samantha passed to Brynn who hit a top corner shot making the final score 6-0!
Thursday 4/23 Home vs. Glenbard East Tie 1-1
The Hornets battled for 80 minutes straight against a solid Glenbard East team. Junior Paige Lilek had her debut back in the goal after many weeks of battling an injury. Lilek had multiple saves throughout the entirety of the game. Glenbard East took the lead going into the half. The Hornets regrouped and came out fired up right from the second half start. Junior Brynn Diedrich found the back of the net with ease putting the team back on the board 1-1. The Hornets had multiple shots and connected well creating many scoring opportunities. The game concluded in a tie. The Hornets will hit the road on Saturday at 10am to face the Montini Broncos.
Saturday 4/26 Away vs. Montini Won 9-0 The hornets traveled for a 10am away game to kick off the weekend and certainly came out with a bang! Just seconds after the kickoff whistle the Hornets made it 1-0 with a rebound from sophomore Jill Ockrim after a nice shot from Captain Brynn Diedrich. Brynn ended the match with 4 goals and 3 assists! Jill tallied a second goal later in the game for a total of two goals and two assists! Molly Curley, Alyssa Watson and Olivia Harding all buried a goal in the match as well! Assists came from Kennedy Ruff, Josslyn Farrare and Macey Laskowski. The team found the back of the net often and were able to end the game early with the 9 goal lead.
JV 4/21 vs. Willowbrook (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer played to a 2–2 draw against Willowbrook High School. The Hornets came out strong, taking a 2–0 lead into halftime behind a perfect free kick from Iva Ilijoska and a powerful strike from Sofia Salezar. Willowbrook responded with two late goals to even the match, but Hinsdale South showed strong play and control for much of the game.
4/23 vs. Glenbard East (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer fell 9–0 at home against Glenbard East High School. The Hornets continued to compete and show effort throughout the match despite facing a strong opponent. While the result was tough, the game provided another opportunity for growth as the team works to improve and gain experience.

Tuesday 4/14 Away vs. Leyden Loss 3-1
The Hornets fought hard for the full 80 minutes unfortunately to fall to their conference opponent the Leyden Eagles. After conceding an early goal, the Hornets kept their heads held high and tied it up to make it 1-1 going into halftime. Sophomore defender Olivia Harding played a phenomenal through ball to senior captain Brynn Diedrich who finished it with poise to tie the game. Junior goalkeeper Ghina Khassar made 11 great saves throughout the game. The Hornets fought hard for the entire game but fell short. There were many great buildups and offensive plays but they struggled to find the back of the net. The girls will refocus and have a productive practice to get ready to travel Thursday evening to play Glenbard South.
Thursday 4/16 away vs. Glenbard South Won 2-1
The Hornets traveled to take on the Raiders for a great evening of soccer. The Hornets connected well across the field and fought for every 50/50 ball in the air. Captain Brynn Diedrich drew a foul in the box to earn a PK, scoring with ease, making it 1-0. Soon after scoring the PK, Junior Loolia Zeitoun had a great assist to find Diedrich again who placed it right in the back of the net. The Hornets lead 2-0 going into the half. The Raiders were able to get back on the board after scoring off a PK later in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Ghina Kassir had two phenomenal saves back to back keeping the score 2-1 for a Hornet victory! The team will be back home on Saturday to protect their own turf against Niles West.
Saturday 4/18 Home vs. Niles West Loss 4-1
The Hornets fell to Niles West on a crisp Saturday morning. The Hornets fought through injury and adversity but fell short. Captain Brynn Diedrich was able to get the Hornets on the board with a nice finish in the second half. The Hornets connected well and worked together swiftly, but ultimately did not have their best game as a team. They will rest up and come back stronger for a conference home game Tuesday 4/21 against Willowbrook.
JV 4/14 vs. Leyden (AWAY) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer dropped a 3–0 decision on the road in conference play against Leyden High School. The Hornets battled throughout the match and showed moments of strong defensive organization while competing away from home. Despite the result, the team continues to gain valuable experience and build chemistry as the season progresses.
4/16 vs. GBS (AWAY) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer fell 7–0 on the road against Glenbard South High School. The Hornets continued to compete throughout the match despite the tough opponent, showing effort and resilience away from home. The game provided another opportunity for growth as the team continues to develop over the course of the season.
4/18 vs. Niles West (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer earned a hard-fought 2–1 home victory over Niles West High School. The Hornets opened the scoring with pressure in the attacking third that forced a deflection resulting in an own goal. They added the game-winner on a great strike from Sofia Salezar, who found the side netting with a well-placed shot. The team showed strong effort and composure to secure their first win of the season.

Tuesday 4/7 Away vs. Morton Won 6-1
The Hornets came out strong with a high scoring victory to kick off conference play. To start off the large amount of goals scored, captain Brynn Diedrich played in a crispy corner kick finding fellow senior captain Kennedy Ruff on the head for a beautiful goal, Wambach style! The goals kept coming as the Hornets gained confidence. Senior Macy Leskowski got into the attack with a beautiful cross finding Diedrich with a nice finish from 10 yards out. Diedrich was hungry for more as she played a great through pass to Ruff who found the back of the net with ease, making it 3-0. Leskowksi pushed into the attack once again finding Diedrich, who was able to dribble with speed finding the back of the net for a 4th goal. Diedrich constantly near the opponents goal drew a foul and scored swiftly on a PK making it 5-0. To seal the deal Ruff wanted one more and was able to find the corner of the net off the dribble for a sixth goal. The Hornets dominated offensively and connected well, conceded one goal, and finished with a 6-1 conference victory on the road. The Hornets will look to add to their winning streak on Thursday as they travel to take on Timothy Christian.
Thursday 4/9 Away vs. Timothy Christian Won 2-1
The Hornets came back from trailing for the first half to end with a 2-1 victory! The girls came out with a spark to kickoff the second half and tied it up off a free kick from Junior Brynn Dietrich’s put in the back of the net by Senior Kennedy Ruff. The Hornets continued to connect and move the ball well and find their rhythm. Senior Macy Leskowski pushed into the attack, finding Dietrich to pull ahead and make it 2-1. The Hornets played with poise and control as they continued to maintain possession for the majority of the second half, finishing with another victory. The defense held it down lead by Senior Alyssa Watson showing great leadership and composure all game.The Hornets will fight to get another win on the board and protect their home turf on Saturday against Riverside Brookfield.
Saturday 4/11 Home vs. Riverside Brookfield Won 3-0
The Hornets protected their home turf on a sunny Saturday morning with a 3-0 victory over Riverside Brookfield. The defense and junior goalkeeper Ghina Khassir held the shutout and protected the net with confidence for the entire 80 minutes. Senior Macy Leskowski pushed into the attack with grit finding Captain Brynn Diedrich in the box. Diedrich was able to bury it into the bottom left corner of the net making it 1-0! The Hornets continued to fight and stayed hungry for more. After a fumble in the offensive third, senior Jessica Aillon hustled and found the bottom left corner of the net making it 2-0. The Hornets found their rhythm and were connecting across the field in fluid motion. Senior Sloane Kiefer finished off the scoring with a beautiful build up, finding sophomore Jillian Okrim up the line, who found the pass to Diedrich in the box, who was able to finish it making it 3-0 to end the game. The Hornets finished with another great victory. The girls will rest and get ready for their next conference opponent under the lights on Tuesday away at Leyden.
JV 4/07 vs. Morton (AWAY) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer faced a challenging opponent in Morton High School, falling 9–0. Despite the tough scoreline, the Hornets continued to battle throughout the match and showed resilience against a strong Morton squad. The game served as another opportunity for growth as the team continues to develop and gain experience early in the season.
4/09 vs. York H.S. (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer took on York Community High School, falling 7–1. The Hornets found a bright spot with a goal from Rachel Tolentino, who capitalized on a counterattack breakaway to get on the board. Despite the result, the team continued to compete and showed determination throughout the match.
4/11 vs. Riverside Brookfield (HOME) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer fell 3–0 against Riverside Brookfield High School. The Hornets showed solid defensive effort and stayed organized for much of the match, keeping the game within reach while continuing to compete. Despite the loss, the team continues to gain experience and build toward improvement.

Tuesday 3/23 Away vs. Tinley Park Tie 1-1
The Hornets fought for the full 80 minutes with grit and toughness to finish with a 1-1 tie against Tinley Park. After giving up a PK to their opponents, the Hornets did not give up the fight. Sophomore Olivia Harding and Senior Macy Leskowski got into the attack and had a combined 12 shots on goal. The girls' offensive mindset paid off when Harding played in a beautiful corner kick finding Leskowski to bury it in the back of the net to tie the game. The ladies battled all the way until the final whistle. Junior Goalkeeper Ghina Kassar had 10 great saves. After a long 80 minutes the ladies will rest and recover and continue the hunt for another victory against St. Laurence on their home turf.
JV 3/24 vs. Tinley Park (AWAY) Hinsdale South JV Girls Soccer battled hard in a 2–0 loss against Tinley Park High School. The Hornets showed strong defensive effort and improved cohesion throughout the match, keeping things competitive while creating a few opportunities. Despite the result, it was a step forward as the team continues to build chemistry early in the season.
Week of March 16th
Varsity Thursday 3/19 Away vs. Nazareth Won 1-0 The Hornets kicked off their season opener with a 1-0 Victory on the away turf of the Nazareth Roadrunners. The game was physical and exciting from both teams. The Hornets came out ready to rock moving the ball well, communicating with one another, and connecting passes swiftly. Junior Brynn Diedrich found the back of the net with ease with a great assist from Senior Molly Curley. The defense held it down in the back and Goalkeeper Ghina Khassar kept the shutout for the Hornets. The Hornets will have their first home game this coming Saturday against Kaneland.
Saturday 3/21 Home vs Kaneland Won 4-1 The Hornets continued their strong start to the season with a 4–1 victory over Kaneland in their home opener, improving to 2–0. The Hornets came out firing, jumping to an early 3–0 lead with confident play, strong communication, and relentless pressure. The scoring began with Brynn Diedrich, who showed great footwork and composure to finish off a huge run from midfield. Defender, Macey Laskowski added to the lead after stepping in to handle a pass assist from Sam Johnston at the top of the box and burying a powerful left-footed 20-yard shot. Shortly after, Olivia Harding capitalized on a loose ball that sprung out of the box, striking from 25 yards out on a fancy clipped volley shot to make it 3–0. In the second half, Jillian Ockrim battled through a tough tackle to send a lead pass to Olivia Harding, who scored her second goal of the game with a long shot over the keeper. Moments later on the kickoff, Kaneland managed to find the net, but the Hornets responded by keeping them at bay the remainder of the half. Defensively, captain Alyssa Watson led the back line with an outstanding performance, consistently intercepting passes and shutting down Kaneland’s attack. Goalkeeper Ghina Kassar added six saves on the day, keeping control whenever Kaneland threatened. Loolia Zeitoun applied strong pressure up top, while Sloane Kiefer and Sam Johnston controlled the midfield with nonstop effort on both ends of the field. It was a complete team win and a strong performance all around as the Hornets move to 2–0 on the season.
