Varsity March 20, 2026 - Burlington Central - L 2 - 6 (0 - 1, 0 - 0) The Hornets kicked off the 2026 season with a long trip up north to Burlington Central. In a tightly contested game, the Hornets faltered late to drop the season opener 2 - 6.
Braeden Koperski got the call for opening day on the mound, and delivered a strong 2.2 innings before hitting his pitch count. Braeden had 3 strikeouts and surrendered 2 earned runs before passing off to Ethan Rodriguez. Ethan picked up where he left off last year, with a scoreless 1.1 innings. Breckin Bozzi finished the game with 2 innings pitched and 2 strikeouts.
The offense started off slow before exploding in the 6th inning with back to back to back doubles from Jack McDaniel, Ben Miller, and Frank Waitkus. Taylor Mazur also reached on an infield single earlier in the game.
March 21, 2026 - TF South - W 9 - 0 (1 - 1, 0 - 0) TF South came to Alumni field for the home opener of 2026. In a big bounce back game, the Hornets offense responded to score 9 runs in route to a big win. Frank Waitkus started game 2 and threw 5 scoreless innings. Frank was dominant with 6 strikeouts to 1 walk, while managing some tricky situations. Jack Madden came in for his 1st varsity appearance and fired off 2 clean innings, striking out 3.
8 Hornet hitters had hits on the day. Alex Dunwody was 3 for 4, scoring 2 runs and knocking in 4 RBIS all out of the leadoff spot. Jack McDaniel had a 2 RBI single late in the game, and Ben Miller, Braeden Koperski, and Drew Baughman all had RBIs of their own as well. Braeden and Drew both collected multiple hits on the day, each tallying 2.
JV March 20, 2026 - Burlington Central - W 3-2 The Hornets opened up the season at home against Burlington Central.
Connor Jaffrey got the opening day start for the Hornets and delivered a very strong first outing, going 3.2 innings with 2 earned runs and 5 strikeouts. John Bauer came in relief and shut down the Rockets, going 2.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and 0 runs.
The Hornet offense was slow until the bottom of the 5th inning, where the Hornets trailed 2-0. After a few walks and a hit by pitch, Louie Dusek came up with 2 outs and the bases loaded. Dusek lined a bases-clearing double over the centerfielder's head, which would give the Hornets a 3-2 lead. Bauer would hold this lead, giving the Hornets their first win of the season.
March 21, 2026 - TF South - W 22-1 The Hornets looked to build off their first win as they traveled to TF South on Saturday. Andrew
O'Rourke started on the mound for the Hornets and delivered a strong outing, going 3 innings, allowing only 2 hits and 1 earned run. The Hornet offense was hot right from the beginning of the game, scoring 11 runs in the first inning.
Nick McConnell was the leader of the offense, collecting 2 hits, 3 walks, and 3 RBIs. The Hornets would go on to rout TF South 22-1 and pick up their second win of the season
