May 29th, 2025 - Bremen -W 10 - 0 (13 - 22 - 1, 7 - 11)
A new season starts as the Hornets enter the postseason looking to win it’s first playoff game in 3 years.  As the 8 seed, the Hornets took on the 10th seeded Bremen Braves. Brandon Elting started the game on the mound and threw a cool 2 innings with 4 strikeouts before being pulled in order to throw a potential game 2 on Saturday.  Niko Villagomez came in relief and breezed passed the Braves hitters, throwing 4 scoreless and hitless innings with 2 strikeouts. The Hornet offense exploded in this game, tallying 15 hits en route to a slaughter rule victory over the Braves.  Noah Greenman swung the hot bat, going 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Ben Miller, getting his first varsity start ever, went 2 for 3 with a double in his first at bat and 2 RBIs of his own on the day.  Brady Miller, Kaden Alavi, and John Kadolph all added RBIs of their own as well.  Alex Dunwoody, Jack Mcdaniel, Kaden and John all had multi hit days to lead the offense to it’s most dominant win of the year.

May 31st, 2025 - Lemont - L 1 - 6 (12 - 23 - 1, 7 - 11)
The Hornet season came to a close on Saturday in a well fought loss to Lemont in the Regional Championship.  The Hornets came into the game as underdogs and battled against the 2nd seeded Lemont team. Brandon Elting fired off the final start in his historic Hornet career.  Brandon competed with a stout Lemont offense and threw 5 innings, striking out 2 hitters.  Ethan Rodriguez finished out his stellar season with a scoreless 6th inning striking out 1 hitter. Facing one of the premier arms in Illinois this year, the Hornets offense came into the game slower.  Four hitters managed base knocks and the Hornets scared the Lemont defense quite a few times leaving 6 runners on base. Brady Miller, Alex Dunwoody, Ben Miller and Kaden Alavi all recorded singles on the day as the Hornets started to chip away at the Lemont pitching staff.  Ultimately, the sole RBI on the day belonged to John Kadolph, who hit a sac fly in the 4th to get the Hornets on the board.

May 19th, 2025 - Downers Grove South - L 12 - 4 (11 - 20 - 1, 6 - 10)
The final conference series begins as the Hornets go on the road to Downers Grove South.  On a surprisingly cold day, the Hornets dropped game one due to a rallying Mustang offense. May 20th, 2025 - Downers Grove South - W 3 - 1 (12 - 20 - 1, 7 - 10)
Game two took place on a cloudy, cold, and wet Tuesday afternoon. Brandon Elting toed the rubber for his final conference match of the season, looking to close out a historically good conference pitching season.  In a pitching duel, the Hornets came out on top thanks to late inning clutch hitting and another quality game from the pitching staff. Brandon did not disappoint, throwing 5 innings allowing 0 earned runs and striking out 9.  He closed the conference season with 30.2 IP, 1 ER, 57 Ks and .151 BA which culminated in a 0.228 ERA.  Brandon exited this game and handed the ball off to Ethan Rodriguez who had a very impressive conference run out of the bullpen as well.  Ethan tossed the final 2 innings of the game scoreless and slammed the door shut on the mustangs. Despite having a slower offensive game, the Hornets were able to do just enough to push across 3 runs and bury the mustangs.  The scoring kicked off with a leadoff triple from Vasili Monogios to dead center in the 3rd inning.  Vasili scored on a sac fly to RF from Jack McDaniel.  In the 5th inning the Hornets scored 2 runs on walks from Niko Villagomez, Brady Miller, and Alex Dunwoody.  Noah Greenman floated a ball into shallow left field to score Meliki Scanlan (pinch runner) and Dunwoody, which proved to be the winning runs on the day.

May 23rd, 2025 - Downers Grove South - L 8 - 9 (12 - 21 - 1, 7 - 11)
The final conference matchup of the season was a tightly contested game that saw the Hornets go down early and battle back to make a game out of a blowout.  After trailing by 7 in the 3rd, the Hornets competed and took the Mustangs down to the final out of the game before falling 8 - 9. Taylor Mazur started the game but was quickly chased after not having his best stuff in the first.  Niko Villagomez picked him up and held the Mustangs off long enough for the Hornets to rally.  Niko threw 4.1 innings before handing off to Ethan Rodriguez who threw the last 1.2 innings scoreless while also escaping some tough jams. Despite 9 strikeouts, the Hornets offense put together some big innings including a 5 run 4th inning.  Brady Miller and Jack McDaniel clubbed big doubles in the later innings to spark the offense while Davy O’Connor added 2 hits and an RBI of his own.  Kaden Alavi added 2 RBIs as well on the day.
