Varsity March 18, 2025 - Glenbard South - L 3 - 11 (0 - 1, 0 - 0) The Hornets dropped game one at Glenbard South to start the season 0 - 1. The Hornets scored 2 in the first inning thanks to a lead off double from Alex Dunwoody and a timely bloop single from Carter D’Andrea. The offense slowed from there as the Hornets struggled to string together offense. Braeden Koperski added a late inning pinch hit single to left as well. Brandon Elting started the game on the mound and struggled early to find the zone. Costly errors defensively helped the Glenbard South offense get out to an early lead. Noah Greenman and Alex Dunwoody also threw quality innings. JV March 18, 2025 - Glenbard South - W 14-1 (1 - 0, 0 - 0) On Opening Day 2025, the Hornets faced Glenbard South in their first game of the season. The Hornets quickly jumped out to a commanding lead in the first inning, scoring eight runs thanks to a key RBI double from Frank Waitkus and RBI base hits from Brecken Bozzi, Lincoln Cabrera, and Jack Madden. Throughout the rest of the game, the Hornets added six more runs, totaling twelve hits. Their defense was outstanding, as they made several impressive plays and committed zero errors. Ben Miller started on the mound for the Hornets, pitching four innings without allowing any runs and giving up only four hits. Jack Madden came in as a relief pitcher and completed the game, securing the victory for the Hornets. The final score was Hornets 14, Glenbard South 1. The team is looking to carry this momentum into their next game against Riverside Brookfield on Wednesday, March 19.
Freshman March 18, 2025 - Glenbard South - W 11-1 (1 - 0, 0 - 0) The Hornets start the season with hot bats and cruise to an 11-1 victory. The Hornets got on the board early thanks to a double by Louie Dusek followed by an RBI single by Brody Elting, in the first. Dusek would finish the day 3-4 with Nathan Navarro, Connor Jaffery, Jude Gallo, and Jack Barry contributing a hit a piece. The Hornets also stole 13 bases. Dusek also started the game on the mound, throwing 3 innings allowing 0 runs, only 2 hits, and struck out 6. John Bauer closed the door with 2 innings of his own. He allowed the only run of the game, allowing 3 hits and striking out 1.
