On Monday, the Varsity Lady Hornet bowlers competed in the West Suburban Conference John Ryan tournament. The Hornets bowled a 4315 series and finished in 8th place. Junior Madison Witucki, with a 1090 series, led the Hornets and Senior Lilly Davy added a 876 series. Seniors Lilly Davy, Olivia Chmiel, Parker Garcia and Anyla Shanklin were recognized as Academic All Conference bowlers and Junior Madison Witucki was recognized as an All Conference bowler, winning the conference individual championship.
On Friday, the Hornets bowlers participated in the IHSA Regional tournament hosted at Echo Lanes in Morris. The Hornets started well but struggled in the middle games. They finished with 4225 total pins and finished 9th at the Regional. Junior Madison Witucki led the Hornets with a 1134 series and qualified for Sectionals as an individual.
Week of January 26th
On Monday, the Hornet Bowlers visited non conference team Lemont High School at Strike n Spare II. The Hornets bowled two consistent games to defeat Lemont by a score of 1534-1394. Junior Madison Witucki led the team with a 425 series. The JV Hornets also defeated Lemont 999-487. Sophomore Shashi Murphy led the JV team with a 232 series. The Varsity Hornets moved to 7-5 on the season and the JV Hornets moved to 6-6.
On Wednesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted Downers Grove South High School. This was the Senior night for the team and coaches recognized the seniors after the match. The seniors include Lilly Davy, Olivia Chmiel, Parker Garcia, Dulce Serna and Anyla Shanklin. This conference match saw the Hornets bowl 3 good games but fall to the Mustangs 2543-2304. Junior Madison Witucki, with a 514 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets and Senior Anyla Shanklin added a nice 415 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were able to put up a nice 3 games and defeated the Mustangs 1790-1601. Senior Parker Garcia led the JV Lady Hornets with 368 series and Sophomore Maddy Herrada added a 350 series. The varsity Lady Hornets fell to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets moved to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Thursday, the Hornet JV Bowlers competed in the JV Quigley Invite. This is a tournament for the newer bowlers on the team to get them some tournament experience. The Hornet JV Bowlers were able to bowl some of their best games of the year and finished 2nd in the tournament. The team was led by Freshman Hannah Rouw with a 393 series, Sophomore Maddy Herrada with a 380 series and Junior Sandina Lewen with a 379 series.
On Saturday, the Hornet Bowlers competed in the Leyden Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets bowled 6 consistent games. Junior Madison Witucki continued her strong season on the team finishing 7th place overall with 1117 series. Senior Anyla Shanklin chipped in an 861 series and Junior Anaid Garfias Fernandez added an 857 series. The Hornets finished in 10th place in the tournament out of 20 teams.
Week of January 19th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted conference foe Willowbrook. This conference match saw the Hornets bowl a solid three games of the season and were able to defeat Willowbrook by a score of 2251-2152. Junior Madison Witucki, with a 515 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets. The JV Hornet bowled a short-handed Willowbrook team and won the match 1785-865. Sophomore Maddy Herrada led the JV Lady Hornets with a 402 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Wednesday, the Hornets visited Naperville North at Fox Bowl in Wheaton. This was the Senior night for the team and coaches recognized the seniors after the match. The Hornets struggled in each game and fell to Naperville North 1849-1758. Senior Lilly Davy led the varsity team with a 429 series and senior Anyla Shanklin added a 423 series. The JV Hornets were shorthanded and were defeated by Naperville North 1611-1089. Senior Parker Garcia led the JV team with a 298 series. The Hornets moved to 6-4 on varsity and 4-4 on JV.
On Thursday, the Hornets visited Morton High School at Striker Lanes. The Hornets bowled their 3 best games of the season, but Morton bowled an outstanding series and were able to win the match 3251-2798. Junior Madison Witucki led all bowlers with a 648 series and Senior Anyla Shanklin added a 467 series. The JV team also fell to Morton by a 2437-1782 score. Senior Parker Garcia led the JV team with a 379 series and Sophomore Maddy Herrada chipped in with a 343 series. The varsity fell to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the West Suburban Conference and the JV fell to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in conference.
Week of January 12th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted Leyden for a conference match. This match saw the Hornets bowl a strong game 3 game and defeat Leyden by a score of 2323-2058. Junior Madison Witucki led all bowlers with a 561 series. Senior Lilly Davy chipped in with a nice 372 series. The JV bowlers stayed consistent each game and were able to defeat the Eagles 1875-1524. Sophomore Maddy Herrada led the JV Hornets with a 356 series and Freshman Hannah Rouw added a 332 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the West Suburban Conference. On Thursday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited conference foe Downers Grove North. This conference match saw the Hornets bowl fairly well for all 3 games and were able to defeat DGN by a score of 2516-2467. Junior Madison Witucki, with a 644 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets and Seniors Lilly Davy and Anyla Shanklin added 402 series. The JV Hornet bowlers bowled well but were defeated by DGN 1807-1785. Freshman Hannah Rouw led the JV Lady Hornets with a 380 series and Sophomore Maddy Herrada added a 309 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets fell to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Friday, the Hornets hosted the 25th annual Ed Puck/Bob Lichter Hornet Invite at Bowlero. This tournament features 6 bowlers from each of the 8 teams invited, bowling 6 games in quick succession. The Lady Hornets were able to place 4th with 4860 total series. They were led by Junior Madison Witucki with a 1169 series which made her the Invite’s Individual champion.
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity Bowlers competed in the Fenton Fred Green Classic Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets started slow but improved by the end of the day. Junior Madison Witucki continued her strong season bowling the highest series of the day, 1120 pins in the 6 games placing 9th individually. Junior Anaid Garfias Fernandez added a 776 series. The Hornets finished in 14th place out of 18 teams in the invite.
Week of January 5th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted Lisle for a non conference match. This match saw the Hornets bowl consistently for both games and they were able to defeat Lisle by a score of 1461-1305. Junior Madison Witucki, with a 308 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets. Senior Anyla Shanklin chipped in with a nice 281 series. The Hornet JV team was also able to get the victory against Lisle. The Hornets shot 1042 and the Lions finished with 997. The JV team was led by Sophomore Shashi Murphy with a 206 series and by Junior Sandina Lewen with a 205 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets improved to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Thursday, the Hornets hosted West Suburban Conference member Proviso East High School. The Lady Hornets Bowlers had good scores and were able to beat Proviso East 2075-1518. Junior Madison Witucki led all varsity bowlers with a 533 series. Senior Anyla Shanklin added a 369 series The JV team was unable to compete because Proviso East didn’t have a JV team. The Varsity Lady Hornets improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in conference and the JV Lady Hornets also improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in conference.
Week of December 15th
On Saturday December 20th, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in the Oswego East Bowling Tournament. This is a tournament featuring 16 varsity teams and 12 JV teams. The Varsity Hornets finished in 13th place on the day led by Madison Witucki’s 1099 series. The 1099 series by Madison helped her finish in 21st place individually. The JV Hornet bowlers were led by Sophomore Shashi Murphy with a 656 series and Senior Parker Garcia with a 624 series. The JV Hornet Bowlers finished in 9th place on the day.
Week of December 8th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team visited Stardust lanes for a conference match against York High School. The Lady Hornets started strong but struggled in game 2 and fell to York 2882-2395. Junior Madison Witucki led the Hornets with a 528 series and Senior Lilly Davy added a 434 series. The JV team struggled from game 1 and also lost to the Dukes 2067-1596. The Varsity Lady Hornets record fell to 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference. The JV Lady Hornets moved to 1-2 and 1-1 in conference as well.
On Thursday, the Hornets visited West Suburban Conference member Addison Trail High School. The Lady Hornets Bowlers had their best score of the season, but lost to the Blazers 2754-2463. Senior Lilly Davy led all varsity bowlers with a 573 series, the highest of her bowling career. Junior Madison Witucki added a 491 series The JV team also improved each game and had their highest score of the year, but fell to Addison Trail 1870-1754. Sophomore Maddy Herrada led the JV team with a 326 series and Hannah Rouw bowled a 319 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets fell to 1-3 and 1-2 in conference and the JV Lady Hornets also fell to 1-3 and 1-2 in conference.
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in the Plainfield North Strikefest. This is a tournament featuring 44 teams from across the state including some of the best teams. The Hornets finished in 2nd place on the day in the Copper Division and 38th place overall. The Hornet bowlers were led by Junior Madison Witucki with a 957 series and Senior Lilly Davy with a 871 series.
Week of December 1st
On Wednesday, the Hornets hosted Sandburg High School. The Lady Hornets Bowlers bowled only two games against Sandburg. The team had a good start but struggled in game two and fell to Sandburg 1691-1544. Junior Madison Witucki led the varsity bowlers with a 360 series. The JV team also lost a close one to Sandburg 1206-1137. Sophomore Maddy Herrada led the JV team with a 253 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets moved to 0-1 and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 0-1.
On Thursday, the Hornets hosted conference rival and sister school Hinsdale Central High School for their first West Suburban Conference Match. The Lady Hornets Bowlers bowled three strong games and defeated the Red Devils 2401-1862. Junior Madison Witucki led the varsity bowlers with a strong 563 series and Senior Lilly Davy contributed a 422 series. The JV team was able to win their match 1533-174. Senior Parker Garcia led the JV team with a 339 series and Junior Sandina Lewen added a 282 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets moved to 1-1 (1-0 WSC) and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 1-1 (1-0 WSC).
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady JV Bowlers competed in the Joliet Central JV Invite. This is a tournament featuring 17 teams from the south and west suburbs. The Hornets finished in 12th place on the day. The JV Hornet bowlers were led by Sophomore Maddy Herrada with a 681 series and Freshman Missy Laitman with a 579 series. The other bowlers in the event were Junior Sandina Lewen (565 Series), Freshman Shinaika Lewen (547 Series) and Freshman Hannah Rouw (530 Series).
Week of November 24th
On Friday, November 28th, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in their first tournament of the 2025-2026 season. This was the 26 team Plainfield Central Wildcat Invite. This is an excellent tournament with some of the best teams in Illinois. The Hornets bowled inconsistently all day, but with a new team, they stayed in the middle of the pack. The team finished in 16th place. The Hornets were led by Junior Madison Witucki with a very solid1171 series finishing 10th as an individual and earning an individual award.
