Varsity The hornets opened up the playoffs Monday against Naperville North where the offense was surging and won in 2 sets. Great setting by Quinn Marronn and Kelan Nicol made it easy on the hitters. In a quick turnaround the hornets went up against Glenbard East in the regional semifinal and had a hard fought loss in 2 sets to end the season. Some great net play by Nate Ockrim and Quinn Marronn wasn’t enough to hold off Glenbard East. The hornets end a great season behind some awesome leadership by the seniors.
Week of May 13th
Varsity To open the week varsity won a 2 set match against Addison Trail to clinch sole possession of conference for the first time in 23 years going 6-0. Following that win varsity celebrated seniors: Nate Ockrim, Quinn Marron, Adrian Folfas, Brendan Savage, Brian Gambill, and Emilis Kudarauskas with a thrilling 3 set win over Metea Valley. All seniors were able to start and play in the win. To close out the regular season, the hornets went up against a very good Downers Grove North team and lost in 2 sets.
JV The Hornets were victorious in their conference game against Addison Trail. The JV Hornets are excited about their 5 and 1 record in conference games. The team put in all of its efforts during their matches against Metea Valley and Downers North but fell short in both games. The team is sad for the season to be over but is looking forward to cheering on the varsity team during their matches.

Week of May 6th
Varsity Varsity opened the week with a 2 set win against RB. Terrence Newell stepped up to play middle and had several kills. On Wednesday a very talented York team came to Soutb and handed a 2 set loss to the hornets. To close out the week varsity headed to The Richards tournament and we’re involved in some very hard fought matches. Going 2-3 and finishing 6th the hornets beat St. Ignatious and Stagg, lost in 3 to Wheaton Warrenville South and Sandburg , and lost in 2 to Brother Rice.
JV The Hornets continue to show their fight and desire to win. This week, they gave all their energy against Riverside Brookfield and York but could not bring home the win. Either way, the team continues to show they are growing their bond and volleyball skills this season.

Week of April 29th
Varsity Varsity opened the week with a great win against Oswego East at home with some great outside hitter offense. On the Tuesday everyone contributed in a 2 set victory against Proviso East making the hornets 5-0 in conference play. Wednesday the hornets hosted St.Charles East and the middles made it a quick 2 set victory. To close out a perfect 4-0 week the hornets beat Hinsdale Central in 2 straight sets. Great defense by Nick Ockrim kept the team rolling.
JV The Hornets were victorious against Oswego East, Proviso East, and St. Charles East. The Hornets played a tough match against Hinsdale Central but did not come out victorious.

Week of April 22nd
Varsity Varsity opened up the week with a 2 set win against Leyden to move to 4-0 in conference play. Adrian Folfas and Tomasz Lobas controlled the net throughout the match. On Wednesday the hornets traveled to Lyons Township and lost a 3 set thriller. Quinn Marron and Kelan Nicol ran an offense to give varsity a chance but fell just short.
JV The Hornets were victorious in their conference match against Leyden. The team fought to win against LT and Streamwood but could not pull off the victory. The weekend was full of matches, and the Hornets won against Proviso West, Bartlett, and Leyden. Unfortunately, they fell short of the win vs. Streamwood and Fenton.

Week of April 15th
Varsity The hornets opened the week with a win at St Laurence in 2 sets. Monday matches are always difficult but varsity was able to keep their composure. On Tuesday we hosted Morton and finished off a 3 set match with a win making the varsity 3-0 in conference play. The defense was able to keep the hornets with the advantage. To finish off the week varsity played in a 3 set thriller against Geneva where Tomasz Lobas and Adrian Folfas took over the match and brought home a win.
JV The Hornets continue to be busy. The team went one and two with some hard-fought matches. The team was victorious in the conference game against Morton. Freshman A The A team got back in the win column with a hard fought 3 set win at St. Laurence. Paul Del Medico led the team with some exceptional displays on defense. The Hornets battled but lost to a strong defensive Morton team and Geneva. The hornets look forward to a week full of practices as well as quality patches against Leyden and Lyons Township.
Freshman B With only one B match this week, the B team enjoyed a week full of some much needed practice. The B team looks to move to the W column on Tuesday against conference rival Leyden.
Week of April 8th
Varsity Varsity opened the week with a quick non conference win against Elgin in 2 sets. The following day the hornets went to Downers Grove South and won in 2 sets in a convincing way. There was some great team serving and net play from outsides Justyn Giadla and Terrence Newell. South is now 2-0 in conference play. The hornets went into a match with a very talented Bolingbrook team on Thursday and lost in 2 sets. Some very high level rally’s by both sides made this a great match. Brendan Savage was able to tally several kills in his first start on Varsity. To close the week varsity got a quick win at Larkin in consecutive sets. A great team effort ended the long week for the hornets.
JV The JV Hornets had a busy week. They won two games and lost two games. The team fought hard, and we continue to see growth and dedication.
Freshman A The A team had a busy week full of games including wins against Elgin, Larkin, and South Elgin. Overall, the Hornets experienced a lot of growth with some players playing out of position and enjoyed the challenge of playing 8 matches in a week. The hornets were led by superb serving from Nick Emanuele and Brian Sherry.
Freshman B The B team had a difficult but productive week of play. The team made significant improvements thanks to consistent scrappy defense from Arjon Skendo and Radosav Dubak. The hornets look forward to continuing conference play this week against Morton!
Week of April 1st
Varsity Varsity opened the week with a conference win against Willowbrook and a 3 set loss thriller to Sandburg. Quinn Marron and Tomasz Lobas paced the offense with several kills per set. To close the week the hornets beat Stagg with some great defense behind Nick Ockrim. Some great serving helped the hornets keep the ball.
JV The Hornets had a busy week of games and practice. The Hornets were led to victories against Willowbrook and Stagg through consistent service from Dom Del Medico, Jayden Villa, and RJ Corson. The Hornets look forward to a week with four games and a tournament.
Freshman A The A team gained a lot of experience playing in 7 matches in one week. While the scoreboard wasn't always in our favor, the team communicated well and played in several hard fought matches. Jake Zakar paced the offense while Nick Emanuele provided significant defense out of the middle. The Hornets look forward to another action packed week of play!
Freshman B The B team worked hard all week and learned together about the importance of consistent serve receive. The Hornets couldn't come out with a win this week, but overall the team improved and was led by Ayden Hubacek-Taylor.
Week of March 25th
Varsity Varsity ended up finishing 4th at the Argo tournament this week. The offense showed it can be dangerous with convincing wins over St. Laurence and Oak Lawn and a competitive loss vs. Lt. Congrats to Tomasz Lobas for being named to the all tournament team.
Week of March 18th
Varsity
Wednesday, March 20th - Hinsdale South d. Waubonsie Valley 25-22, 25-20 Varsity opened up the season with a 2 set win against Waubonsie Valley. Being short handed it was a group effort winning the match without a libero. Excellent back row play by the middles made it a more controlled game.
Thursday, March 21st - Hinsdale South d. Elmwood Park 25-16, 25-13 For the first home game of the season, the hornets hosted Elmwood park and were able to make it a quick 2 set victory. The entire team was able to get in the game and add some stats to the table.
JV The JV boys' volleyball team was excited to begin their season. The team fought hard against Waubonsie Valley, but unfortunately did not come up with the win. The team turned it around on Thursday and beat Elmwood Park in their first home game. We are ready for an exciting season. The Hornets were led by Ethan Ebero and Navin Linson in both matches.
Freshman A Freshman A: The freshman A got off to a 2-0 start this week with wins against Waubonsie Valley and Elmwood Park. The hornets were led by Paul Del Medici and Andrius Valincius in the front and back row, with Marcin Janik providing some clutch serving. The Hornets look forward to returning from Spring break to several matches!
Freshman B Freshman B: The freshman B team lost a hard fought 3 set match against Waubonsie Valley. Rafey Khan and Arjon Skendo provided a spark for the Hornets, who look forward to a busy schedule of matches in the coming month.
