Week of March 20th The Girl's Water Polo Team lost to Saint Charles North on Monday and Riverside Brookfield on Wednesday. Congratulations to Taryn Bazon and Autumn Lambke on scoring their first goals in their water polo careers. Other strong players contributing strong assists and tough defensive play were: Gaby Iliev, Dyana Banian, Hailey Bishop and Amy Driggers. The girls will not have any games next week, but will compete at home on Monday evening (4/3) against Leyden High School and Saint Charles East on Thursday (4/6).
Week of March 13th The Girl's Water Polo Team had a busy week. Even though they were defeated by Lincoln Way West on Wednesday and York on Thursday, the team played hard and continues to demonstrate much improvement. Our top scorers for the week were Maggie Johnston, Caroline Dunford and Taryn Bazon. Other shooters for the week were Amy Driggers, Autumn Lambke, Leva Heininga and Riley Owens. In the goal and doing an outstanding job for the team were Amy Driggers, Sarah Cardenas and Mandy Aylward. Keep up the hard work Hornets! Next week we will be traveling to Saint Charles North on Monday evening and are back home competing against Riverside Brookfield in our home pool on Wednesday.
Week of March 6th The Girls Water Polo Team is back in the water for another exciting season. The Team will be led this year by returning seniors Gaby Iliev and Amy Driggers. Also returning this season are: Sammy Aylward, Maggie Johnston, Caroline Dunford, Diana Banian, Ieva Heininga and Sarah Cardenas. We are happy to welcome many new faces on the team this year: Mandy Aylward, Brianna Cortez, Ellie Urban, Taryn Bazon, Autumn Lambke, Riley Owens and Hailey Bishop.
The girls began their season with a JV win against Metea Valley on Monday Evening. High scores were Caroline Dunford and Maggie Johnston. On Defense, recognition goes out to Amy Driggers for her outstanding performance in the goal. The team went on to lose to LTHS on Thursday and Stagg on Friday. High team scorers were Caroline Dunford and Maggie Johnston. The girls continue to work hard and we expect great things from our new players this season as we continue to progress.
