On Monday, the Varsity Lady Hornet bowlers competed in the West Suburban Conference John Ryan tournament. The Hornets bowled a 4835 series and finished in 6th place. The team started off slowly with a first series of 2344 but surged with a 2487 second series, which moved them from 7th to 6th place. Freshman Madison Witucki, with a 1202 series, led the Hornets and Junior Mandy Aylward added a 1005 series. Seniors Olivia Uba, Kelsey Pettry and Juliana Clemens were recognized as Academic All Conference bowlers and Freshman Madison Witucki was recognized as an All Conference bowler, placing 2 overall in the conference.
On Saturday, the Hornets bowlers participated in the IHSA Regional tournament hosted by Romeoville at Bowlero Romeoville. The Hornets started very slowly but bowled a much stronger afternoon. They finished with 4515 total pins and finished 5th at the Regional. Freshman Madison Witucki led the Hornets with a 1195 series and Mandy Aylward added a 1009 series and both qualified for Sectionals as individuals. Senior Kelsey Pettry also competed in the Bowling Chair division and won the regional with a 752 series and qualified for the State Tournament.
Week of January 22nd
On Monday, the Hornet Bowlers visited non conference team Lemont High School. The Hornets started bowled two consistent games to defeat Lemont. The Varsity Hornets defeated Lemont by a score of 1492-1430. Freshman Madison Witucki led the team with a 347 series. The JV Hornets also defeated Lemont. Junior Nathaly Fernandez led the JV team with a 321 series. The Varsity Hornets moved to 5-7 on the season and the JV Hornets moved to 7-4. On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited Morton High School. This conference match saw the Hornets bowl 3 consistent games, but ultimately fell to Morton. They were defeated by a score of 3154-2598. Freshman Madison Witucki, with a 555 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets and Junior Mandy Aylward added a nice 535 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were also able to put up a consistent 3 games but were defeated by the Mustangs 2471-1667. Junior Sammy Aylward led the JV Lady Hornets with 359 series and Freshman Ana Fernandez added a 331 series. The varsity Lady Hornets fell to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets fell to 7-5 overall and 3-5 in the West Suburban Conference. On Wednesday, the Hornets hosted the Bolingbrook Raiders at Bowlero in Woodridge. This was the Senior night for the team and Coaches recognized the seniors prior to the match. The seniors include Juliana Clemens, Kelsey Pettry and Olivia Uba. The Hornets bowled two of their best games all season and defeated the Raiders 1842-1423. Freshman Madison Witucki led the varsity team with a 415 series. The JV Hornets were also able to defeat the Raiders 1081-846. Junior Sammy Aylward led the JV team with a 264 series. The Hornets moved to 6-8 on varsity and 8-5 on JV.
On Thursday, the Hornet Bowlers competed in the JV Quigley Invite. This is a tournament for the newer bowlers on the team to get them some tournament experience. The Hornet JV Bowlers were able to bowl well and placed 6th in the tournament. The team was led by Freshman Ana Fernandez with a 318 series, Junior Nathaly Fernandez with a 314 series and Freshman Jasmin Pulbere with a 311 series.
On Saturday, the Hornet Bowlers competed in the Leyden Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets started slow but improved throughout the day. Freshman Madison Witucki continued her incredible 1st season on the team finishing 6th place overall with 1106 series. Senior Juliana Clemens chipped in a 903 series, Junior Mandy Aylward added an 850 series and Senior Olivia Uba bowled a 834 series. The Hornets finished in 8th place in the tournament.
Week of January 15th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited conference foe, Downers Grove North. This conference matches saw the Hornets bowl strong first and third games and were able to defeat DGN by a score of 2636-2564. Freshman Madison Witucki, with a tremendous 642 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets. The JV Hornet bowlers were shorthanded against DGN and fell 1427-1174. Junior Sammy Aylward led the JV Lady Hornets with a 354 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets fell to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Wednesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited Fox Bowl for a non-conference match against Naperville North. This match saw the Lady Hornets convincingly defeat Naperville North 2472-1745. Freshman Madison Witucki led the Hornets with a season high 674 series and Junior Diana Banian shot her season high 485 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were consistent in all three games and defeated Naperville North 1576-1491. Junior Sammy Aylward led the JV Lady Hornets with a 399 series and Freshman Anaid Fernandez shot a 348 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets improved to 6-4 overall and 2-4 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Thursday, the Hornets hosted Willowbrook High School. The Hornets bowled 3 good games, but Willowbrook bowled an outstanding 2nd game and were able to win the match 2673-2587. Freshman Madison Witucki again led the varsity team with a 577 series and Senior Juliana Clemens added a 485 series. The JV team was able to defeat a shorthanded Willowbrook squad by a 1690-513 score. Freshman Jasmin Pulbere led the JV team with her season high 360 series and Junior Nathaly Fernandez chipped in with a 327 series. The varsity fell to 4-7 overall and 2-5 in the West Suburban Conference and the JV improved to 7-4 overall and 3-4 in conference.
Week of January 8th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited Lisle for a non-conference match. This match saw the Hornets bowl consistently for all 3 games and they were able to defeat Lisle by a score of 2213-1498. Freshman Madison Witucki, with a 601 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets. Junior Mandy Aylward chipped in with a nice 454 series. Lisle did not have a JV team, so the JV bowlers were unable to compete. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets improved to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the West Suburban Conference. On Thursday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted conference foe, the Leyden Eagles. This conference match saw the Hornets bowl well for all 3 games but were defeated by the Eagles by a score of 2765-2490. Freshman Madison Witucki, with a 571 series, led the Varsity Lady Hornets and Senior Olivia uba added a 427 series. The JV Hornet bowlers also bowled well but were also defeated by the Eagles 1048-1043. Freshman Jasmin Pulbere led the JV Lady Hornets with a 227 series and Freshman Anaid Fernandez added a 218 series. The varsity Lady Hornets fell to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the West Suburban Conference. The JV Lady Hornets fell to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the West Suburban Conference.
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity Bowlers competed in the Fenton Fred Green Classic Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets started slow but improved in the middle of the day. Freshman Madison Witucki continued her strong season bowling the highest series of the day, 1073 pins in the 6 games placing 10th individually. Senior Juliana Clemens added a 919 series and Senior Kelsey Pettry added a 878 series. Junior Samantha Aylward demonstrated excellent sportsmanship by bowling with another team in games they weren’t bowling with the Hornets because of the other team being short bowlers. The Hornets finished in 9th place out of 16 teams in the invite.
Week of December 11th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team visited Stardust Lanes to face off with Addison Trail High School. The Lady Hornets bowled well in their first two games to keep the match close, but ultimately fell to Addison Trail 2899-2629. Freshman Madison Witucki again led the team with a season high 651 series. The JV hornets were short handed and fell to Addison Trail 1853-1389. Freshman Anaid Fernandez led the JV squad with a 309 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets record moved to 1-5 on the season and 1-3 in conference. The JV Lady Hornets moved to 4-2 and 2-2 in conference.
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in the Oswego East Bowling Tournament. This is a tournament featuring 16 varsity teams and 10 JV teams. The Varsity Hornets finished in 7th place on the day led by Madison Witucki’s 1061 series. The 1061 series by Madison helped her finish in 15th place individually. Junior Mandy Aylward added a season high 963 series for the varsity. The JV Hornet bowlers were led by Sophomore Lilly Davy with a 728 series and Junior Nathaly Fernandez with a 644 series. The JV Hornet Bowlers finished in 9th place on the day.
Week of December 4th
On Tuesday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team hosted conference foe and D86 sister school Hinsdale Central High School. The Lady Hornets started strong and defeated a shorthanded Hinsdale Central 2479-1725. Freshman Madison Witucki led the Hornets with a 572 series and Senior Juliana Clemens added a 454 series. The Red Devils did not have a JV team, so the Hornets were awarded the victory by forfeit. The Varsity Lady Hornets record moved to 1-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference. The JV Lady Hornets moved to 4-0 and 2-0 in conference.
On Thursday, the Hornets visited West Suburban Conference member York High School. The Lady Hornets Bowlers finished strong but fell just short to York 2636-2634. Freshman Madison Witucki led the varsity bowlers with a 606 series. The JV team also improved each game but lost to York 1998-1704. Sophomore Lilly Davy led the JV team with a 336 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets moved to 1-4 and 1-2 in conference and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 4-1 and 2-1 in conference.
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in the Plainfield North Strikefest. This is a tournament featuring 44 teams from across the state including some of the best teams. The Hornets finished in 10th place on the day in the Bronze Division and 34th place overall. The Hornet bowlers were led by Freshman Madison Witucki with a 1153 series and Senior Juliana Clemens with a 951 series.
Week of November 27th
On Monday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team hosted non-conference team Fenton High School. The Lady Hornets had a strong 2nd game but were unable to defeat the Bison. The Hornet Varsity lost 2426-2380. Freshman Madison Witucki led the varsity with a 495 series. The JV team bowled well and defeated Fenton 1698-1688. Junior Julissa Quintero led the JV team with a 339 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets record moved to 0-1 on the season. The JV Lady Hornets moved to 1-0.
On Wednesday, the Hornets hosted Sandburg High School. The Lady Hornets Bowlers bowled only two games against Sandburg. The team had a cold start and fell to Sandburg 1753-1601. Freshman Madison Witucki led the varsity bowlers with a 355 series and Senior Juliana Clemens added a 297 series. The JV team defeated Sandburg 1111-1094. Junior Sammy Aylward led the JV team with a 252 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets moved to 0-2 and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 2-0.
On Thursday, the Hornets hosted Downers Grove South High School for their first West Suburban Conference Match. The Lady Hornets Bowlers bowled two strong games but ultimately fell to the Mustangs in a heartbreaker 2630-2625. Freshman Madison Witucki led the varsity bowlers with a strong 525 series and Senior Olivia Uba contributed a 461 series. The JV team was able to finish strong and win their match 1463-1343. Sophomore Lilly Davy led the JV team with a 351 series. The Varsity Lady Hornets moved to 0-3 (0-1 WSC) and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 3-0 (1-0 WSC).
On Saturday, the Hornet Lady JV Bowlers competed in the Joliet Central JV Invite. This is a tournament featuring 12 teams from the south and west suburbs. The Hornets finished in 5th place on the day. The JV Hornet bowlers were led by Freshman Madison Witucki with a tremendous 1190 series earning her first place honors individually.
Week of November 20th
On Friday, November 24th, the Hornet Lady Bowlers competed in their first tournament of the 2023-2024 season. This was the 20 team Plainfield Central Wildcat Invite. This is an excellent tournament with some of the best teams in Illinois. The Hornets bowled consistently all day, but with a young team, they stayed in the middle of the pack. The team finished in 11th place. The Hornets were paced by Freshman Madison Witucki with a 1098 series finishing 16th as an individual.
