Varsity On Tuesday Hinsdale South celebrated senior night and was able to get a 2 set win with all seniors getting some time on the court. Congratulations to all of our seniors.
Wednesday the hornets hosted Brother Rice and was able to get a 3 set win in our last match at home. Quinn Marron paced the offensive one of his highest assist total of the season.
To close out the regular season the hornets traveled to Downers Grove North and lost in 2 sets.

Week of May 9th
Varsity The hornets opened the week on Tuesday with a 2 set win against Addison trial improving their conference record to 4-1.
On Thursday the hornets traveled to St. Francis and won a thriller in 3 sets. Great net play by middles Adrian Folfas and Steven Czuba led the charge for South.
Friday night the hornets opened up the Richards tournament with a loss to Plainfield East and win against Morton to keep them in the gold bracket for Saturday.
To start bracket play Saturday the hornets took down LT in 2 sets and won a thriller comeback match in 3 sets against Wheaton Warrenville South. After a injury with starting setter Quinn Marron who was playing phenomenal at the net, freshmen setter Kelan Nichol came in to get the last 2 assists to end the match and get the hornets to the championship match. Plainfield East was able to take down the hornets in 2 who were running a completely different offense in the finals. Senior outside Coke Korfist and senior libero Joey Pacentine were named to the all tournament team.

Varsity The hornets opened up the week traveling to Proviso East which resulted in a 2 set victory. A balanced match by the entire team kept the game consistent.
On Wednesday Hinsdale south took on Lyons Township. In a very exciting match the hornets fell in a 3 set thriller. Joey Pacentine had one of his best defensive games of his career with double digit digs.
To end the week the hornets traveled to Fenton. In a loud gym the varsity sealed the deal in 2 sets. Quinn Marron ran a very well balanced offense.

Week of April 18th
Varsity Varsity opened the week at home with Leyden. With some great team defense the hornets were able to win in 2 straight sets.
Wednesday Varsity headed to Riverside Brookfield in a non conference match. Some of the best serving of the year set the tone for a 2 set win. Ryan Hashim led the offense at the net.
The hornets closed the week out against St Laurence at home. With a 2 set victory varsity moved to 10-5 on the season. Middle Steven Czuba and Adrian Folfas had their most kills of the year together.
Varsity Varsity opened the week getting their first conference win against Morton at home in 2 sets. Senior outside Kyle Breskey led the way in efficiency at the net.
Wednesday night Nazareth Academy came to Hinsdale South in a non conference match. The hornets played a clean match and won in 2 sets. Aggressive serving and consistent passing by the entire team kept the hornets with the ball.
To end the week South traveled to Bolingbrook. In a very impressive win the hornets took care of business in 2 sets. Great serving by Quinn Marron and Joey Pacentine kept Bolingbrook out of system.
JV JV vs Morton 23-25, 20-25 Terrence Newell - 8 kills. Zac Carder - 5 assists. Kelan Nicol - 5 assists Another hard fought match for the Hornets. Big pickup from newcomer Terrence Newell leading the charge with 8 kills. Great defense from Ilija Colakovic which kept us in the running all match.
25-22, 25-22 Terrence Newell - 2 aces, 4 kills. Kelan Nicol - 5 assists, 3 kills, 1 ace. Zach Carder - 7 assists First victory of the season for JV! Most complete game of the season for the team finding ways to get big kills and serves versus a scrappy Naz team.

Week of April 4th
Varsity On Tuesday the hornets went to Downers Grove south and fell in 2 very competitive sets to open up conference play. Some very aggressive serving showed some early leads but varsity wasn’t able to hold on.
On Wednesday the hornets traveled to Carl Sandburg and was challenged for the second day in a row vs a high ranked team. After a very slow first set, varsity competed but lost in 2 sets. Some great defense by Joey Pacentine set up some thrilling rallies.
To close out the week Varsity hosted Stagg and was able to get back in the winning column with a 2 set victory. Sophomore Nathan Ockrim showed some improvement at the net and lead the pin hitters in hitting percentage.

Week of March 28th
Varsity The hornets closed out Spring Break finishing 4th at the Argo Invite. On Friday Varsity went 2-0 with convincing wins over Shepard and Stagg.
Going into bracket play Saturday, the hornets opened up with a win against Oak lawn which was followed by a loss against Lyons Township. In a exciting 3rd place match the hornets fell to Whitney Young in 3 sets 15-17 with some great defensive play by Joey Pacentine.
Congrats to our all tournament players Cole Korfist and Quinn Marron. Cole had the high in team kills this weekend and Quinn controlled the offense and lead the team in aces.
Week of March 21st
Varsity The hornets opened their season on the road against a top ranked Plainfield North team. In a great match, the hornets lost in 3 sets with the offense being led by sophomore setter Quinn Marron.

Freshman The freshman boys volleyball team started off the season with a tough 0-2 loss to Plainfield North. The team looks forward to the month of April as the season quickly progresses with our first conference match immediately after spring break.
