Female Athlete of the Week - Jasmine Carlson, Softball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Jasmine Carlson. Jasmine had an outstanding week last week on defense but also coming up with big hits against Riverside-Brookfield and Stagg. Jasmine had a key hit against Riverside-Brookfield driving in a key RBI. Her biggest hit of the season came against Stagg for the Regional Championship with runners on 2nd and 3rd with the Hornets being down by one and down to their last out Jasmine hit a 2-run double to drive in the winning run. Male Athlete of the Week - Namit Sambare & Josh Eisenschenk
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Namit Sambare and Josh Eisenschenk. Together these boys posted a 6-1 record at state, good enough for a 5th place finish. This marks the top doubles team in school history, and their 9 points gained contributed to the 17 total team points, which put the Hornets in 6th place, their best finish in school history. Great job Namit & Josh! Congratulations on a great year!

Female Athlete of the Week - Marissa Marrera, Softball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Marissa Marrera. Marissa had a big conference win for us against conference rival Willowbrook. Marissa had a solid performance on the mound and also had key hits. Marissa pitched all seven innings and only giving up 1 earned run. Marissa also had 2 hits on the game with 3 RBIs. Male Athlete of the Week - Ryan Kuhlman, Baseball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Ryan Kuhlman. Ryan was instrumental in the Hornet Baseball Team sweeping Leyden in the three game series. Ryan was stellar both offensively and defensively. In the final game of the series with the Hornets trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ryan hit a ground rule double driving in two and putting the Hornets on top. In the top of the 7th inning, Ryan recorded the final out on a diving catch at 3rd base to secure the victory and the 2018 West Suburban Gold Conference Championship. Great job Ryan! Female Athlete of the Week - Alexis Kotsiantos, Girls Soccer
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Alexis Kotsiantos. Alexis had a big week for the hornets with two huge goals in 3 games. At Morton, she buried the only goal in the 1-0 win which helped clinch the conference championship later in the week. Although the team lost, she also scored the lone goal in the DGS game on a beautiful free kick. Alexis also played well in the win over Willowbrook at Home 3-0 where she helped lead the team to it’s second conference title in a row! Great Job Alexis! Congratulations on a great week!
Male Athlete of the Week - Jacob John, Boys Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Jacob John. This week Jacob played 4 matches alongside doubles partner Tony Lu. He put up a 3-1 record, with his only loss coming to one of the top doubles teams in the state from Hinsdale Central. Ultimately, he secured a conference championship for the Hornet’s after beating DGS in the finals match at the first doubles position. This week he partners back up with Tony in a bid to qualify for the IHSA state tournament. Great job Jacob! Congratulations on a great week!

Female Athlete of the Week - Kaitlyn Hurka, Badminton
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Kaitlyn Hurka. Kaitlyn helped the Hinsdale South Badminton team finish in second place at the IHSA Sectional Badminton Tournament at Neuqua Valley High School. In helping the team finish in second, Kaitlyn also helped secure her doubles team a second place finish as well (with partner Aimee Puz) and earned her second trip to the IHSA Badminton State Championships at Eastern Illinois University. Male Athlete of the Week - Namit Sambare, Boys Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Namit Sambare. Namit went 6-1 in matches this week, with his only loss against an Edwardsville doubles team poised to win state in class 2A. Alongside partner Josh Eisenschenk, Namit got a great win Monday night against a tough DGN team, before collecting wins over Loyola, Wheaton Warrenville South, DGS, and St. Charles North this weekend at the NaperValley Invite. He’s been a great team leader on and off the court, and heading into the conference tournament and looming state series, is poised to have a special season. Great job Namit! Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Jenna Deolitsis. Jenna was instrumental in helping the Hinsdale South Varsity Badminton team win its 14th straight West Suburban Conference Gold meet on Friday, April 27th. She was a conference champion at 5th singles and her win helped propel the team to a one point victory over conference rival Willowbrook. Male Athlete of the Week - Carmelo Lazzara, Boys Track
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Carmelo Lazzara. Carmelo continues to dominate in the 300 Hurdles and his times continue to drop. He has contributed to the team in the 4x800 as well as the 110 High Hurdles during the outdoor season. Most recently, he took 1st in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 42.52 in very poor weather conditions at the Hornet Invite on Friday, April 27th. Continued success to Carmelo and the boys team. Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Aimee Puz. Aimee had a great week of badminton! She had wins against Hinsdale Central and Downers Grove South and helped secure a solid week for our first doubles team. She has improved her game all season to help make our first doubles a state competitive team. Aimee has been a great leader for the team all season and she and her doubles partner will make a lot of noise at the upcoming IHSA State Badminton meet! Great Job Aimee! Male Athlete of the Week - Joris Bizys, Boys Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Joris Bizys. After battling injury for most of the season, Joris Bizys has finally found his way back onto a singles court. In his first competitive match of the season, Joris lost the first set 4-6 to conference rival DGS, but then battled back to win the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to keep the Hornets in the hunt for a second consecutive conference title. Female Athlete of the Week - Rachel Ng, Badminton
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Rachel Ng. Rachel finished in 1st place at Fourth singles as the Naperville Central Badminton Invite, beating entries from Neuqua Valley, Naperville Central, Rolling Meadows and East Aurora. Rachel then followed that up with wins against Addison Trail and Morton. Finally, Rachel capped off the week by reaching the championship match at Fourth Singles at the 16 team New Trier “Featherfest” invitational. She also helped the team secure a 5th place finish overall. Great Job Rachel! Congratulations on a great week!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the John Colucci. John pitched another complete game victory vs. Willowbrook High School defeating them by a score of 3-2. Colucci went all 7 innings allowing 2 earned runs on three hits and striking out 8. Colucci moved his season record to 4-1 and picked up his 18th career victory. Colucci has currently moved into 4th place on the Hornets All-Time Wins list for pitchers. He is behind Kyle Nelson with 21, Todd Schultz with 20 and Joe Strejc with 19. Great job John! Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Briana Veselik. Briana worked hard over Spring Break and gave the hornets their 2nd victory of the season over Vernon Hills. Briana contributed to the Hornets win by winning 3 out of 4 swim offs and she also contributed to the win with 1 assist, 3 steals, and 5 goals. Congratulations to our Athlete of the Josh Eisenschenk. Josh went 3-0 on the week in match play. Alongside doubles partner Namit Sambare they got a great win versus powerhouse UChicago on the 1st doubles court. He then went on to dismantle Glenbard South alongside partner Jacob John at the 2 doubles position, and then prevailed 7-6(4), 4-6, 10-5 in a thrilling 1st singles match against former singles state qualified Bert Cao from IMSA. Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Madison Kern. Madison had a great week leading the team to the first win of the season over Glenbard East. Madison gave up 2 earned runs striking out 12 in game one. Madison went 1-3 with an RBI. Madison went 5 for 5 in game 2 with 2 RBI and scoring 3 runs. She also led the team against Riverside Brookfield going 3 for 4. Madison has had a solid bat! Great job Madison! Congratulations on a great meet!
Male Athlete of the Week - Tony Lu, Boys Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Tony Lu. In the first match of the weekend versus Belleville East, Tony pulled out a tough win on the singles court, and then alongside partner Aaron John got the win on the doubles side of things, accounting for half of the team’s wins. His win in singles versus Chaminade clinched the team win for the Hornets in the second round, and his doubles play in the last match of the weekend versus Hersey has helped in putting us up 4-1 before play was suspended due to rain. As a sophomore Tony is finding himself in the top of our lineup, and his play has contributed to the early success the Hornets have found. Great job Tony! Congratulations on a great weekend!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Raquel Blumenstein. The Hornet girls' track team finished the Indoor season with a record of 26-6 following a third place finish at the WSC indoor meet. At the WSC Indoor meet Raquel was the Triple Jump Champion with a jump of 35-09.00 Great job Raquel! Congratulations on a great meet!
Male Athlete of the Week - Saul Chavez, Basketball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Saul Chavez. Saul played his last games with the Hinsdale South Special Olympics team this year, after 4 years on the team. The referees in both games chose him as the Spirit of Game Player for having sportsmanship and the love of the game. He had 12 points in the first game and 21 points in the second game, sinking the last 2 at the buzzer to end the season! He has been a team leader and wonderful teammate to everyone. Great job Saul! Female Athlete of the Week - Rachel Arellano, Indoor Track
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Rachel Arellano. The Hornets girl's track team improved their record to 10 wins and 2 loses with wins over Reavis and IMSA on Thursday, March 1st. At the meet, Rachel had a career indoor PR of 38' 9" in shot put. She is currently ranked 6th in the state in class 3a shot put. Great job Rachel! Congratulations on a great meet!
Male Athlete of the Week - Dominic Cassano, Gymnastics
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Dominic Cassano. As a third year varsity member, senior Dominic Cassano has been a role model to his fellow teammates since he joined the team. While the season has only just begun, he has already brought his all-around score up from a 37.9 to a 46.3, which is an 8 point jump in just one season. With many more weeks to go before sectionals, Dominic is looking like a strong contender for the state competition. Great job Dominic! Congratulations on a great meet!

Male Athlete of the Week - Jayden Arquines, Indoor Track
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Jayden Arquines. Jayden a sophomore, placed 3rd in a very competitive 17 team field at the Proviso West Indoor Track Invitational on Saturday in the 600 meter run. His time of 1:27 is just 2 seconds off the school record set by Brian Jordan in 2015. Jayden also led off our 4 X 800 meter relay to a 10th place finish. Amazingly, Jayden played on the sophomore basketball team this season and was less than a week into his track season! Great job Jayden! Congratulations on a great meet!

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week - Senior Boys Basketball Players. Kaleb Thomas, Ramon Norman, Joe Mazzei, Roberto Sarangay, Zion Griffin, and Robert Barnes. This year’s senior class has seen success unlike any other class before it. In two years of conference play, this class is a combined 19-5 in conference games. They are the only class in school history to win a Western Suburban Conference Title doing it both 16-17 and 17-18 seasons. Congratulations seniors! Good luck in the IHSA Playoffs next week!

Female Athlete of the Week - Jaultiana Brown, Bowling
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Jaultiana Brown. On Monday, the Varsity Lady Hornet bowlers competed in the WSC Headpin tournament. The Hornets bowled a 5762 series. Jaultiana had 2 high games of 203 and 207 to lead the Hornets to a 5th place finish. On Saturday, they participated in the IHSA Regional tournament hosted by Argo at El Mar Bowl. They finished with a season high 5014 total pins and finished 3rd at the Regional. Jaultiana Brown led the Hornets with a season high 1073 (6 game) series. Great job Jaultiana! Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Allison Early. Allison for the second week in a row, has shown great determination and improvement during the dual meet competition. This past week Allison had the highest 3 game series against Willowbrook (540) and Naperville Central (567) for a total of 1,054. Allison also had high games of a 211 against Willowbrook and a 195 against Naperville Central. She also moved up into in the team’s top average at 160. On Thursday night he won by technical fall over his opponent from Addison Trail, Friday he won by forfeit against Proviso East, and Saturday he won in dominant fashion with pins against Chicago Hope and Nazareth Academy. Female Athlete of the Week - Sara Cleghorn, Bowling
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Sara Cleghorn. Sara was the lead bowler for our own Hinsdale South Ed Puck 10 pin tournament with a 934 series and a high game of 192. Sara also excelled at the Fenton Fred Green Classic on Saturday with a 1008 series. Sara bowled 6 games on Friday and 6 games on Saturday and somehow was able to put up her best 3 game series on Saturday afternoon shooting a 525 series. Sara has been a consistent force on the team leading the team in games bowled (60) and total pins knocked down 8831. Great job Sara! Congratulations on a great week!
Male Athlete of the Week - Zion Griffin, Boys Basketball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Zion Griffin. Zion scored 19 points in the first half to lead his team to a 63-39 victory over Dekalb. He then scorched Leyden with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Zion is averaging 21 points per game and 8 rebounds per game on the season to help lead his team to a 13-4 record. Great job Zion! Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Erin Adams. Erin had two big conference games where she led the team in scoring both nights. She had a huge game over Morton, where she scored 17 points and picked up 3 steals. She also had 13 points and 9 rebounds over Willowbrook. Erin led the team in minutes played and points scored. She played big on both offense and defense and has been playing much bigger than the 15 year old sophomore that she is! Great job Erin. Congratulations on a great week!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Derrick Singleton. Derrick finished the first half of the wrestling season very strong, ending with a 5-2 record over 3 days of competition! On Thursday night he helped the varsity team earn a conference dual win over Willowbrook by pinning his opponent. In a 2-day tournament at Hinsdale Central over the weekend, Derrick wrestled tremendously well as he won 4 out of 6 matches en route to a 5th place finish. Great job Derrick! Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Ben Smith. Ben had a great week of bowling for the Hornets. On Monday he led the team to victory over Plainfield South by shooting a 682 3-game series. This included games of 242,223,217. On Saturday he finished 12th overall at the Lincoln Way East Invite. This helped the team finish 12th out of 24 teams. His 1315 6-game series consisted of games of 198,265,201,201,204,264. His series was the 7th highest all-time in the program’s history. Great job Ben! Congratulations on a great week!

Male Athlete of the Week - Robert Barnes, Boys Basketball
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Robert Barnes. Robert had 2 dominating performances to help lead his team to a 5-1 start this season. Robert had 9 rebounds and played excellent defense in a win vs. Andrew. On Friday vs. Central Robert scored 22 points and dominated the Red Devils in the second half to lead his team to a rivalry victory. Robert blocked Central’s best player 4 times in the second half and took one of the blocks to the other end and finished it with a thunderous dunk that had the Hornets’ Nest shaking. Female Athlete of the Week - Briana Veselik, Girls Swimming
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Briana Veselik. Briana had a great meet at the IHSA Sectional, with lifetime bests in the 100 Fly (1:00.05) and 100 Breast (1:08.95). She was part of the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay that placed and she had lifetime best splits in both those events. Briana certainly finished her swimming career at Hinsdale South on the highest note possible!!! Congrats on a great year!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week Patrick Fatigato. On Tuesday vs. Minooka Patrick had a nice 602 series which included a 232 game. On Thursday the team traveled to Fenton. The varsity won 2151-2125. Patrick stayed hot with 658 series (224,210,224). On Saturday at the Lake Park Invite Patrick again led the way with a 1057 6 game series. Great job Patrick! Female Athletes of the Week - Neha Chinwalla & Patrice Trzupek
Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week Neha Chinwalla and Patrice Trzupek. Neha and Patrice have been the 1 -2 punch for the Hornet Girls’ Cross Country team all season! The two girls have traded 1st or 2nd team runner positions for the cross country team all year. When the girls announced their own goals of qualifying for the STATE Cross Country meet very early in the season, they knew what they would need to do to accomplish that goal! They were both able to accomplish their goal of qualifying for the state meet, but then pushed beyond this first goal and accomplished even more. The girls finished in the upper half (84th and 85th) of all State Meet runners in the state of Illinois. They BOTH ran PERSONAL BEST times of 19:04 on that course and for the season! Congratulations on a great year!
Male Athlete of the Week - Brett Haffner, Boys Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week the Brett Haffner. Brett concluded his fine cross country career at Hinsdale South with a 13th place finish in the IHSA State meet on Saturday. Brett’s plan was to get out fast, and he did, leading the 3-mile race for almost a mile and a half. Although he lost the lead, he still earned All-State status, just the 7th Hornet boys’ cross country runner in school history to earn such a status. Congratulations on a great year!

Male Athletes of the Week - Varsity Football Team
Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week the Varsity Football Team. The Hornets defeated #1 seeded Crete Monee on Friday, October 27th. The final score was 28-20 in an exciting back and forth game in Crete. It was a true team effort with major contributions being made by multiple players. We play home vs St. Laurence of Burbank, Saturday Nov 4th at 6:00 pm in the second round of the IHSA playoffs. Congratulations on a great game!

Female Athlete of the Week - Neha Chinwalla, Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week Neha Chinwalla. At the IHSA Regional meet at Midlothian Meadows, Neha finished as Individual Regional Champion!! The Hinsdale South Hornets have not had an individual champion since 1982. Neha won her race in a time of 19:36. Neha has been showing great improvement this whole season as a team leader and top runner most races. She has been very encouraging to her whole team, both in practices and meets.Neha and the rest of her varsity team will compete in the IHSA Sectional meet this Saturday at Kress Creek Farms in West Chicago. Male Athlete of the Week - Nick Beronio, Boys Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Sophomore Nick Beronio. Nick placed 4th Saturday at the 8-team Marist Regional Meet, helping Hinsdale South to a team championship. Nick has a personal best time this year of 16:39 for 3 miles and has consistently been one of our top performers. He is looking to continue his success at Sectionals this weekend in West Chicago and State the following weekend in Peoria. Great job Nick! Congratulations on a great meet!

Female Athlete of the Week - Aimee Puz & Sylwia Mikos, Tennis
Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week, Aimee Puz & Sylwia Mikos. While both battled sickness the weekend of the IHSA Sectional they managed to post an impressive 3-1 record, which was good for a second place finish. This marks the first doubles team the Hornets have qualified for state in five years. Look for this duo to be a top doubles team this coming weekend.! Way to go Aimee & Sylwia! Male Athlete of the Week - Colin Lyster, Boys Golf
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Colin Lyster. Colin only a sophomore was the first Hornet to qualify for the IHSA State Meet in 5 years. Colin shot a 2 day total of 160 at the IHSA State tournament at the Den golf course in Bloomington. He shot an 81 the first day and a 79 the second. Colin finished 67/107. We are very proud of Colin and looking forward to more great things to come from him. Great job Colin! Congratulations on a great year!

Female Athlete of the Week - Alissa Banks, Girls Golf
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Alissa Banks. Alissa qualified for the IHSA Sectionals by shooting 92 at the Regional meet last week at Prairie Bluff Golf Course. Alissa has worked extremely hard this season to overcome injury and get back on the course. This is an amazing accomplishment! Way to go Alissa! Congratulations on a great meet!

Female Athlete of the Week - Mouna Chahin, Girls Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Mouna Chahin. Saturday Mouna went 2-1 on the day, constituting two of the three total wins the Hornets got. Her wins (both in straight sets) came at the first doubles position alongside partner Aimee Puz against Downers Grove North and St. Charles East. Way to go Mouna! Congratulations on a great meet!
Male Athlete of the Week - Colin Lyster, Boys Golf
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Colin Lyster. The Boys Golf team won the WSC Gold Championship on Tuesday September 26th with a team score of 320, which was their lowest team score of the year! Colin was the Medalist with a score of 74. Colin was also the Medalist at the LaSalle Peru Invite on Saturday. Great job Colin! Congratulations on a great week.

Female Athlete of the Week - Bryn Larson, Girls Swimming
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Bryn Larson. As a freshman, Bryn has been a key player in our success so far this season. Bryn placed in the top 6 in both her events at Champaign, helping the Lady Hornets to finish in 3rd place. This past weekend, Bryn finish 1st in the 50 Free with a season best time and 3rd in the 100 Free, also with a season best time at the Lyons Township Frosh/Soph Invitational. Great Job Bryn! Male Athlete of the Week - Brett Haffner, Boys Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Brett Haffner. Brett placed 4th last weekend at the Rock River Run in Sterling against some great competition. He has consistently led the team this year with a best time of 15:35 for 3 miles. In addition, his leadership has been extremely valuable on a young team. Great job Brett! Female Athlete of the Week - Aimee Puz, Girls Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Aimee Puz. This weekend Aimee was a key factor in defeating LT (2nd in state last year), and Edwardsville (5th in state last year). She played at the first doubles position versus LT and got a huge win alongside partner Sylwia Mikos (the first time a top HS doubles team has beaten a top LT doubles team in many years). Tied 2-2 versus Edwardsville, Aimee played 2nd singles and was the last match on court. After dropping the first set, she cruised through the second and won a 3rd set tiebreaker 10-7 sealing the win for the Hornets. Great Job Aimee! Congratulations on a great week!
Male Athlete of the Week - Charles Franklin, Football
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Charles Franklin. Charles plays defense for the hornets but received the offensive player of the game vs dgs in our 31-17 victory. He had 7 tackles and a tackle for loss. He added 2 scores on an 80 yard interception for TD and another 98 yard interception for TD. His efforts secured the right to bring home the rebel cannon for the 3rd time in the last 4 years. Great job Charles! Congratulations on a great game!

Female Athlete of the Week - Patrice Trzupek, Cross Country
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Patrice Trzupek. Patrice earned a 6th place medal with a time of 20:20 at the Reavis “Running Rams” Invitational this past Saturday. Patrice improved her time from last year at the same meet by 1:55. The adjustments to the course this year made it more challenging with the sled hill as part of the running course, but Patrice was tougher! Patrice is the only girl on the team this season SO FAR to break the 20:00 mark. We look forward to bigger things as the season progresses. Great Job Patrice! Congratulations on a great meet!
Male Athlete of the Week - Destin Talbert, Football
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Destin Talbert. Destin scored 3 touchdowns against Morton leading the Hornets to a 44-7 victory. Talbert averaged 88 yards per catch at wide reciever while scoring on his first 2 touches. He also scored on a 70 yard punt return to open the scoring. He finished with 168 yards receiving. Female Athlete of the Week - Kaylee McKinney, Girls Golf
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Kaylee McKinney. Kaylee shot a personal best of 49 at our home course Village Greens against Downers South on Monday and followed this up with a 42 at Twin Lakes (par 30) on Wednesday against Willowbrook. She also was a key player in the Varsity Team #1 taking 6th place at the DGN Scramble. Way to go Kaylee! Congratulations on a great week!
Male Athlete of the Week - Will Asmus, Boys Golf
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Will Asmus. Will had a low round of 34 at Sugar Creek on Thursday, August 31st in a 144 to 171 win over Willowbrook. He also had a very good round of 39 at Carriage Greens on Tuesday, August 29th in a 156 to 178 win over Lyden. Great start to conference season 2-0! Will also helped the Hornets to a 1st place finish at the Willowbrook Invite on Saturday, September 2nd. Great job Will! Congratulations on a great week!

Female Athlete of the Week - Agata Mikos, Girls Tennis
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Agata Mikos. This weekend Agata went undefeated in our home cookout quad versus Neuqua Valley, York, and Hinsdale Central. After her straight set win versus Olivia Oosterbaan from Hinsdale Central (who finished seventh in state last year), Agata has already solidified herself as a top player in the area and ultimately the state. This week she’ll take on Sienna Lopez from Glenbard West as she continues to work towards her goal of a state singles title. Way to go Agata! Congratulations on a great week!
Male Athlete of the Week - David Nkansah, Football
Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Senior David Nkansah. David played a key role in the hornets 20-0 victory over Prospect High School. From the linebacker spot, David had numerous pressures on the Prospect QB which resulted in multiple sacks and tackles for loss. He showed great instinct and quickness delivering punishing tackles. Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week, Brigid LoConte. After playing first doubles last season on junior varsity, Brigid has stepped up in a big way. After logging a lot of on court hours in the off season, she has found herself in the varsity lineup. With some absences this past weekend, her and partner Sydney Puz played up in the lineup and found ways to win against some stellar teams at the second doubles position earning them a 4th place finish in a tough tournament held at U of I.
