Week of February 17th Last week the Hornets competed on Saturday February 22nd at the Willowbrook Invite. This is always a great meet and the Hornets were very competitive. On the freshmen / sophomore level we saw 1st place finishes in the 4 X 800M relay, 55M dash, 800M run, 4 X 400M relay, and high jump. We also saw several second and third places in numerous other events. Enough for the freshmen / sophomore team to score 109 points and earn 2nd place at that level.
Week of February 10th Our Hornets traveled to the annual York Invite on Friday February 14th for a great Valentine’s Day. The young Hornets entered almost with an entire freshmen / sophomore team and scored an impressive 93 points at that level, good enough for 3rd place behind York and Hersey High Schools. Highlights included our freshmen / sophomore 2nd place finishes in the 4X800M relay (Abby Peterson, Olivia Rogers, Elena Garcia, and Victoria Cius), 4X200M relay (Ashley Hobbs, Caitlin Bishop, Jada Palmer, and Nicole Pacasova), 400M dash (Jasmine Hobbs), and 1600M run (Elena Garcia).
Week of February 3rd Our first home meet was a huge success. Every member of the team was able to compete in events, many for the first time. Our meet was not scored, to allow for as many entries into events as possible. We saw some promising runs and jumps from our team and look forward to next week at York.
