Week of April 22nd This week the boys hosted conference and ended up taking third overall! The following athletes ended their regular season as all-conference qualifiers on their respective events: Anthony Anderson (Rings, Vault, P-Bars, All-Around), Henry Mihindou (Floor, Vault), Keenan Stewart (Floor, Vault), Payton Hultmark (Rings, P-Bars, High Bar, All-Around), and Zac Lowery (Horse). The boys are excited to go to sectionals next week at Lyons Township and hope to qualify for state!
Week of April 15th This week the boys had a great performance for their senior night against Addison Trails. Unfortunately, the boys did lose the meet, however each of them worked as hard as possible and left nothing on the floor; bouncing back four whole points from the previous invite. The Barrington invite was canceled this week, which gives the boys some extra time to prepare for the conference invite we will be hosting on the 25th!
Week of April 8th The boys had a busy week this week, having a home invite on Monday, a conference meet on Wednesday, and a big invite on Saturday. While the pressure was on, the guys certainly didn’t disappoint, starting the week off with a 110.65 in our three person (usually five) invite, and jumping all the way up to a 135.7 against Willow brook, which is the second highest team score we’ve had in the last five years. Anthony and Payton both increased their all around score by over three points to help the team get here; scoring 47.1 and 43.5 respectively. The boys had a rough meet at the Dave Donaldson invite, but will surely bounce back next week for Senior Night against AT!
Week of April 1st At the Hinsdale Central invite, the boys took 7th place with a 123.8, an incredible 18.45 points higher than last year. The boys had a few individual placers, and were one of only two teams in the Silver side of our conference to have anyone place in the top five. Anthony Anderson again led the way, scoring 43.7 himself, and was supported by Payton Hulmark who added another 39.7.
Week of March 25th We had no competitions over spring break, and unfortunately weren’t able to get any pit time in over break because of some rule changes to USAG, but still had a wonderfully productive week of practices that should prepare us for our Hinsdale Central invite next week.
Week of March 18th The guys managed to win another conference meet against DGS, scoring a new season high of 129.8 against their 114.7. At Lake Park, they scored a 123.05 taking 6th place, a full 15 points up from last year which is an incredible improvement especially with a smaller team. Each of our main varsity athletes placed in at least one of their events; with junior Anthony Anderson leading the team with an all-around score of 41.7 points.
Week of March 11th This week we had our first conference meet against Leyden, and even though we were down two of our stronger varsity members, we still managed to snag the win with a 112.1 against Leyden’s 107.8. While this was our only meet this week, it gave us a lot of time to prepare for the DGS meet and lake part invite next week.
Week of March 4th This week the boys went to their first varsity invite, and scored 114.85, their highest score at this particular invite in the last few years. While they only took seventh, five of the boys placed individually on their respective events.
Week of February 25 This week the boys had their first meet of the year and started their season off with a bang, scoring 122.9 points and winning the triangular meet against LP and HF. This gave them the 28th ranking in the state to start of the year with. The boys are hoping to break into the top twenty as a team this year and qualify at least four varsity members for the state tournament.
