1980 Class 5A State Runner-up Football Team Championship game Nov. 22, 1980: Chicago Mt. Carmel defeated Hornets 15-10; Record 11-2 Hinsdale South’s first state football finalist finished with the second best record in school history after losing its only regular season game to Willowbrook. The Hornets featured six future Division 1 players and had four shutouts on the season.
