Week of January 29th

On Monday, the Varsity Lady Hornet bowlers competed in the West Suburban Conference Headpin tournament.  The Hornets bowled a 5762 series and finished in 5th place.  The team started off slow with a first series of 2700 but really finished strong with a 3062 second series, which moved them from 8th to 5th place. Senior Allison Early, with a season high 1082 series, led the hornets.  Seniors Allison Early, Jennifer Griffin and Izzy Ruiz were recognized as Academic All Conference bowlers.

On Saturday, the Hornets bowlers participated in the IHSA Regional tournament hosted by Argo at El Mar Bowl. The Hornets started strong and bowled consistently all day.  They finished with a season high 5014 total pins and finished 3rd at the Regional.  This effort qualified the team to advance to the Sectional Tournament.  Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the Hornets with a season high 1073 series.  Junior Sara Cleghorn shot a 1054 series, Senior Allison Early shot a 1046 series and Senior Jennifer Griffin shot a 1015 series. 

Week of January 22nd

On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited a conference foe, the Addison Trail Blazers. The match saw the Hornets bowl strong for 3 games and they were able to defeat the Blazers by a score of 2703-2467.  Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the Varsity Lady Hornets with a 478 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were also able to put up a strong 3 games and defeated the Blazers 2263-1931. Junior Kayla Mikita led the JV Lady Hornets with a season high 434 series.  The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 5-7 overall and 2-6 in West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets improved to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in West Suburban Conference.  

On Wednesday the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited Argo for their last dual match of the year. The varsity bowlers were able to defeat Argo by a score of 1713-1479 in 2 games dropping the lowest score. Junior Allison Early led the Varsity Lady Hornets with a 379 series. The JV Lady Hornets were able to defeat Argo by a score of 1382-1209. Junior Alissa Banks led the JV Lady Hornets with a 310 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 6-7 overall and 2-6 in West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets improved to 12-1 overall and 7-1 in West Suburban Conference.  

On Thursday, the Hornets bowlers participated in the Quigley JV 2 tournament. 7 members of the Hornet Bowling team who had not competed in a tournament we selected to bowl.  They were Juniors Lyla Abogada and Crystal Mejia Herrera, Sophomores Zofia Oles and Kennedy Hagen as well as Freshmen Natalie Krueger, Sneha Mittal and Eva Nupauerova. Zofia Oles led the JV 2 hornets with a nice 369 series and Kennedy Hagen had a terrific 195 game.  

On Saturday, the Varsity Lady Hornet bowlers competed in the 20 team Leyden Invite.  The Hornets got off to a slow start but heated up in the afternoon.  The Lady Hornets finished 12th in the field and they were led by Senior Izzy Ruiz with a 1009 series and a 219 game. Sophomore Jaultiana Brown also bowled a strong 204 game. 

Week of January 15th

On Wednesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted a conference foe, the Willowbrook Warriors. The match saw the Warriors bowl strong for 3 games and they were able to defeat the Hornets by a score of 3128-2739.  Senior Allison Early led the Varsity Lady Hornets with a 540 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were able to put up a strong 3rd game and defeated the Warriors 2473-2334. Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the JV Lady Hornets with a great 530 series.  The varsity Lady Hornets fell to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets improved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in West Suburban Conference.  

On Friday, the Hornets hosted Naperville Central in a non-conference match.  This was Senior Night for the Hornets as they recognized Seniors Allison Early, Jennifer Griffin, Diamond Hargrove, Melissa McQuillan and Izzy Ruiz. The Varsity Lady Hornets bowled their best match of the year and defeated the Redhawks 2988-2257. Senior Izzy Ruiz led the Varsity Lady Hornets with her season high 3 game series of 567 and Junior Sara Cleghorn’s also bowled a season high game of 235.  The JV Lady Hornets also bowled well and were able to defeat the Redhawks 2524-1659.  Junior Emily Collins led the JV Lady Hornets with a 478 series. The varsity Lady Hornets improved to 4-7 overall and 1-6 in West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets improved to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in West Suburban Conference.  

Week of January 8th

On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted their conference rival, the Downers Grove South Mustangs. This conference match saw the Hornets struggle in the second game and the Mustangs were able to defeat the Hornets by a score of 3019-2705.  The Varsity Lady Hornets were led by sophomore Jaultiana Brown with a 482 series. The JV Hornet bowlers were able to put up a strong 3rd game and defeated the Mustangs 2571-2413. This was one of the best dual meet scores by the JV Lady Hornets.  The JV Lady Hornets were led by Freshmen Catherine Fatigaro with a great 455 series.  The varsity Lady Hornets fell to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets improved to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in West Suburban Conference.  

On Friday, the Hornets hosted the 18th annual Ed Puck Hornet 10 Pin Tournament at Brunzwick Zone.  This tournament features 6 bowlers from each of the 8 teams invited bowling 6 games in quick succession.  The Lady Hornets were able to place 7th and were led by Junior Sara Cleghorn with a good 934 series.  Senior Melissa McQuillan also bowled her season best 910 series and Junior Emily Collins competed well with a 906 series.  

On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity Bowlers competed in the Fenton Fred Green Classic Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets bowled very consistently all day and were able to finish in 14th place out of 24 teams. Junior Sara Cleghorn led the team with a 1008 series and Junior Emily Collins followed with a 935 series.  

Week of December 11th

On Monday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team visited conference foe Morton High School.  The varsity Lady Hornets bowled well and scored their best series of the year but fell to Morton 3019-2803. Junior Sara Cleghorn led the varsity with a 532 series.  The JV team was able to come from behind to defeat the Lady Mustangs 2677-2629.  Senior Diamond Hargrove led the JV team with a 486 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets record moved to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets moved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference.

On Tuesday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted sister school Hinsdale Central.  The varsity Lady Hornets started slowly and improved each game, but lost to Central 2678-2612.  Senior Jennifer Griffin led the team with a 474 series.  The JV Hornet bowlers were able to finish strong and defeat the Red Devils 2223-2128. Senior Melissa McQuillan led the JV bowlers with a 430 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets fell to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in West Suburban Conference and the JV Lady Hornets improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference.

On Thursday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted conference opponent Leyden High School and celebrated Junior Sara Cleghorn’s birthday.  The varsity Lady Hornets started quickly and stayed strong to defeat the Lady Eagles 2762-2565.  Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the team with a 499 series.  The JV Hornet bowlers were able to bowl consistently each game and defeated Leyden 2264-1723. Junior Emily Collins led the JV bowlers with a 469 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets improved to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in West Suburban Conference and the JV Lady Hornets improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference.

On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity and JV Bowlers competed in the West Aurora Blackhawk Invitational. The Varsity Lady Hornets bowled very consistently all day and were able to finish in 4th place out of 8 teams.  Senior Allison Early led the Hornets with a strong 981 series.  The JV bowlers we also able to remain consistent and had a strong finishing 2 games to finish in 3rd place out of 8 teams.  Freshman Abbey Leban led the JV bowlers with a very strong 893 series and a 7th place individual finish.  

Week of December 4th

On Tuesday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team visited conference foe York High School.  The Lady Hornets struggled out of the gate.  The varsity lost to York 2946 – 2471.  Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the varsity with a 453 series.  The JV team suffered its first loss of the season losing to York 2387-2216.  Senior Diamond Hargrove led the JV team with a 425 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets record moved to 1-3 and 0-2 in the West Suburban Conference.  The JV Lady Hornets moved to 3-1 and 1-1 in conference.

On Thursday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers hosted the Lisle Lions.  This was another non-conference match for the team and the varsity Hornet bowlers were able to pick up their second win by a 2640--2513 score.  Senior Izzy Ruiz led the team with a 516 series.  The JV Hornet bowlers were also able to get a win as they defeated the Lions 2366-1692. Junior Alissa Banks led the JV bowlers with a 454 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets improved to 2-3 and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 4-1.

On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity Bowlers completed in the Plainfield North Strikefest.  This is the largest and most prestigious girl’s bowling tournament in Illinois and features 44 of the best teams in the state.  The hornets started strong in the morning with Allison Early bowling a 515 series. The Hornets found themselves in 32nd place after the morning session and earned a place in the Bronze Division. The hornets were able to improve on their morning score and finished 8th in the Bronze Division.  Senior Allison Early with 993 series led the hornets followed by Sophomore Jaultiana Brown with a 981 and Senior Izzy Ruiz with a 962 series.  Senior Jennifer Griffin led the hornets in the afternoon with a 492 series followed by Sophomore Jaultiana Brown with a 488. 

Week of November 27th

On Tuesday, the Hornet Girls Bowling Team visited Fox Bowl to face their first conference team of the year, Downers Grove North.  This was the first dual meet of the season and the team bowled really well.  The varsity lost to DGN 2972 – 2753.  The varsity was led by Senior Jennifer Griffin with a 540 series and Junior Sara Cleghorn with a 500 series.  The JV team defeated DGN 2254 – 2097.  The JV team was led by Freshmen Catherine Fatigato with a 435 series and Freshmen Abbey Leban with a 434 series.  

On Wednesday, the Hornet Girl’s Bowling Team hosted Carl Sandburg High School for a non-conference bowling meet. The varsity girls bowled well but ultimately lost to Sandburg 3041-2794.  Sophomore Jaultiana Brown led the team with a 515 series.  The Hornet JV bowlers were able to beat the Sandburg JV team by a score of 2250-2195. Junior Emily Collins led the JV team with a nice 445 series. The Varsity moved to 0-2 on the season and the JV improved to 2-0.

On Thursday, the Hornet Lady Bowlers visited the Fenton Bison at Wood Dale Lanes.  This was another non-conference match for the team and the varsity Hornet bowlers were able to pick up their first win by a 2791-2761 score.  Senior Allison Early led the team with a spectacular 608 series.  The JV Hornet bowlers were also able to get a win as they defeated the Bison 2410-1982. Freshman Abbey Leban led the JV bowlers with a 450 series.  The Varsity Lady Hornets improved to 1-2 and the JV Lady Hornets moved to 3-0 

On Saturday, the Hornet Lady JV Bowlers completed in the Joliet Central Steelmen JV invite.  The hornets featured 4 new bowlers, 2-second year bowlers and 1 junior bowler.  Freshman Catherine Fatigato bowled a 848 series in 6 games and finished in 9th place overall.  The hornets had a strong start and finished in 6th place out of 10 teams.  It was a tremendous learning experience for the young bowlers.  

Week of November 20th

Varsity

On Saturday, the Hornet Lady Varsity Bowlers completed in the Plainfield Central Wildcat Invite.  This was the first tournament of the year for the team.  The Hornets started slow and improved throughout the day.  The Hornets finished in 16th place out of 23 teams.  The team was lead by Junior Sara Cleghorn with a strong 1040 series and sophomore Jaultiana Brown with a 981 series
