The Hornets traveled to Palos Lanes for the IHSA Sectional on Saturday. The team finished 16th overall. Matt Camacho had the high series (1163) and Aidan Yen had the high game (241).
Week of January 8th
On Tuesday the Hornets hosted Bolingbrook for senior night. It was a great night of bowling. The varsity won 2817-2690. Matt Camacho again led the team with a 633 series and 248 high game. Mikie Aylward and Noah Cook both shot a 575 series. The JV won 1898-1878. Carter D’Andrea led the team with a 491 series and 212 high game. The night concluded with a celebration of seniors Matt Camacho, Noah Cook, Brian Gambill, EJ Mazzei, Austin Young, and Azarius Whitley.
On Wednesday the Hornets traveled to Hinsdale Central. The varsity won 2665-2323. Matt Camacho had the series (633) and game (240). Aidan Yen shot a 234 game and 564 series. The JV lost 1913-2222. Ja’Kari Little had the high game (172).
On Saturday the Hornets hosted the IHSA Regional Tournament. The team finished 4th and advanced to next Saturday’s sectional tournament. Matt Camacho finished 5th overall with a 1236 series including games of 267 and 236. Mikie Aylward finished 14th with a 1173 series and 257 game.
Week of January 1st On Tuesday the Hornets traveled to Lisle Lanes to take on Naperville Central. The varsity lost 2585-2614. Matt Camacho led the team with a 617 series and 233 game. The JV lost 1691-2025. J’mar Pittman shot a 332 series to lead the team.
On Wednesday South hosted Morton. The varsity lost 2710-3019. Mikie Aylward had the high game (251) and series (621). The JV lost 2312-1672. J’mar Pittman led the team with a 449 series and 183 game.
On Thursday the Hornets hosted Naperville North. The varsity lost 2874-2710. Matt Camacho led the team with a 625 series and 235 game. EJ Mazzei also bowled well with a 616 series and 233 game. The JV had to forfeit, but were led by Austin Young with a 456 series.
Week of December 18th
On Tuesday the Hornets hosted Willowbrook. The varsity lost 2695-2821. Matt Camacho continued to bowl well by shooting a 646 series. Mikie Alyward had the high game of 244. The JV lost 1784-1847. Austin Young (425 series) and J’mar Pittman (403) led the way.
Week of December 11th
On Monday the Hornets hosted Reavis. The varsity bowled well and won 2892-2678. Aidan Yen had the high game (256) and series (642). Matt Camacho contributed a 621 series. The JV lost 1908-2094. Austin Young led the team with a 427 series.
On Wednesday the team traveled to Fenton. The varsity did just enough to win 2602-2540. Mikie Alyward led the team with a 583 series. The JV won 1793-1073. Brian Gambill led the way with a 443 series. Azarius Whitley had his best series (419).
On Saturday the varsity and JV competed in the Glenbard North/West Topcat Tournament. The varsity finished 7th out of 16 teams. Matt Camacho was a medal winner and finished in 4th place overall (1289 series). The JV finished in 11th place out of 14 teams. J’mar Pittman led the team with a 995 series. Brian Gambill pitched in with a 992 series.
Week of December 4th
On Monday the Hornets traveled to Lemont. The varsity lost the two game series 1627-1939. Matt Camacho had the high game (245) and series (411). The JV lost 1171-1517. Austin Young had the high game (153) and series (275).
On Tuesday South hosted Chicago Christian. The varsity bowled well and won 2926-2301. Matt Camacho continued to excel shooting a 709 series with games of 182, 248, and 279. The JV shot their high series for the year and won 2006-1643. Brian Gambill (427), Jmar Pittman (425), and Austin Young (424) again led the team.
On Thursday the Hornets hosted Plainfield Central. The varsity had a rough night and lost 2410-2712. EJ Mazzei led the team with a 549 series. The JV continued to improve, but lost 2035-2225. Carter D’Andrea had the high game (221) and series (496).
On Saturday the varsity and JV competed in the Oswego East Invite. The varsity started off strong and finished 8th out of 16 teams in the morning block. This put them in the gold division for the afternoon baker format. They came up short against Joliet West in round one. EJ Mazzei led the team with a 806 four game series. Matt Camacho shot an 800 with high games of 267 and 248. The JV finished the morning 7th out of 8 teams. They battled, but lost to Oswego in the baker format. Carter D’Andrea led the team with a 638 series finishing in 21st place. Jmar Pitman contributed a 603 series to help the team.
Week of November 27th
On Monday South hosted Nazareth. The varsity won 2755-1820. EJ Mazzei led the team with a 578 series. Matt Camacho (566) and Noah Cook (550) also bowled well. The JV won 1927-1580. Austin Young (435) and Brian Gambill (429) led the team.
The Hornets hosted Oak Lawn on Wednesday. The Varsity lost 2749-3148. Matt Camacho had a great night shooting a 656 series with games of 234, 256, and 173. Noah Cook contributed a 256 game. The JV won 1946-1930. Brian Gambill (416 series) and Jmar Pittman (402 series) led the team.
On Thursday South hosted the Glenbard North/West Coop. The varsity lost 2784-3148. Matt Camacho shot a career high 723 series with games of 237, 229, and 257. The JV bowled well, but lost 1946-1958. Austin Young (461) and Brian Gambill (453) led the way.
Week of November 20th On Monday the Hornets traveled to Morton. The varsity lost 2501-2641. Matt Camacho shot a 614 series with games of 202, 204, and 208. The JV lost 1769-2192. Brian Gambill shot a 430 series to lead the team.
Week of November 13th
On Tuesday the Hornets traveled to LT. The varsity lost 2530-2810. EJ Mazzei and Matt Camacho both rolled a 586 series to lead the team. The JV came up short 1809-2580. Brian Gambill led the way with a 485 series.
South hosted Oswego on Thursday. The varsity shot their best series of the year, but came up short 2947-3008. Matt Camacho had a great night with a 686 series and game of 258, 233, 195. EJ Mazzei had a 592 series and a 243 game. Noah Cook chipped in with a 590 series and 242 game. The JV improved as well, but lost 1925-2326. Austin Young led the team with a 432 series.
On Saturday the Varsity competed in the Plainfield North Strikefest Tournament. The team finished 29th out of 44 teams and in 3rd place in the Bronze division. Matt Camacho had the high series (1085). EJ Mazzei (1060 series, 234 game) and Noah Cook (1040 series) were close behind. The JV competed in the Lake Park Invite. The team finished 19th out of 20 teams. Brian Gambill led the team with a 941 series and 34th place finish. Austin Young was close behind in 36th place with a 938 series.
Week of November 6th
The Hornets opened up the season on 11/7 against Hinsdale Central. The varsity won 2814-2381. Matt Camacho had the high game (232) and series (627). EJ Mazzei rolled a great 601 series. The JV came up short, losing 1850-2125. Carter D’Andrea led the team with a 462 series.
On Wednesday, South hosted the Glenbard East/South Coop. The varsity lost 2784-2897. Carter D’Andrea led the team with a 612 series. Noah Cook had the game with a 233. The JV lost 1898-2306. Jmar Pittman had the high series (405) and David Grivalsky had the high game (165).
